The infamous melee weapons are making a return

Season 3 in Call of Duty: Warzone is planning to bring back a plethora of fan-favorite content. Verdansk headlines this content lineup, as fans have been waiting for the return of that map for years. However, you can also unlock and use a variety of classic weapons that were made (in)famous on the map. One of those weapons is the Kali Sticks, which are one of the most notorious melee weapons in Warzone history.

You can unlock the Kali Sticks for free in Warzone but not through the Battle Pass. Instead, you have to follow another unlock process that's a little more involved. To see how to unlock the Kali Sticks in Season 3, check out the guide below.

Unlocking the Kali Sticks in Warzone

The Kali Sticks are unlocked through the Return to Verdansk event in Warzone. This event starts with Season 3 in Warzone on April 3, which is one day after the new season launches in Black Ops 6, and runs until April 15. You have until the event end date to unlock the Kali Sticks through its intended method. After the event ends, you'll have to unlock the Kali Sticks in an undisclosed way.

Return to Verdansk features a total of 14 challenges to complete. Once you have completed all 14 challenges, you will immediately unlock the Kali Sticks in your melee weapon slot in Warzone. The melee weapon is the mastery prize in the event. These challenges don't need to be completed in any order, but they all need to be finished before April 15 to secure the Kali Sticks. You can also unlock the Kilo 141 assault rifle through this event if you didn't already get it for free.

The 14 challenges consist of Warzone tasks to complete on Verdansk. They range from opening safes on Verdansk to securing different types of kills. You'll also unlock specific rewards for every challenge you complete. The rewards consist of cosmetics, Operator skins, and more.

Once all 14 challenges are done and the Kali Sticks are unlocked, all you have to do is go to one of your loadouts, select the secondary slot, and tab over to the melee weapons category to equip them.

The Kali Sticks feature two sticks, one in each of your Operator's hands, and they can be used to quickly beat enemies down. However, it's likely that Activision has toned down the effectiveness of the Kali Sticks, so they're not as overpowered as they were in the original days of Verdansk.
