Just like any of the other weapons in the M4 family of guns, the Tempus Torrent is an incredibly powerful gun. It has one of the quickest killing speeds of all options in Modern Warfare 2. The Tempus Torrent is so powerful that it even has the capability of killing opponents in two bullets.
It also has incredibly easy-to-control recoil. These two things combined makes it a formidable opponent. Hitting a first shot with this gun will nearly guarantee that you come out of a gunfight with the kill.
How to unlock the Tempus Torrent in MW2
The Tempus Torrent was added to Modern Warfare 2 in the Season 02 Reloaded update and there a couple of different ways to get your hands on it. The first is arguably the easiest but it will also take some time to get. It will require players to load up into MW2's multiplayer playlists in order to secure the required objectives:
- Get 25 double kills using a Marksman Rifle
On the face of it, that sounds pretty easy but with the lack of mobility in Marksman Rifles and all of the maps in the current rotation being really big, it becomes incredibly difficult.
It can be very time-consuming to get 25 of these double kills, especially for lower-skilled players who have a tough time hitting shots in Modern Warfare 2.
Where to find the Tempus Torrent in MW2 DMZ
It is also possible to unlock the Tempus Torrent in MW2's DMZ mode. DMZ is a new mode that has been added to Call of Duty for the first time in this year's game. It is in the style of Escape from Tarkov and gives a unique spin to the Call of Duty formula.
To unlock the Tempus Torrent in DMZ, all players need to do is extract from the mode with the weapon in hand. That may sound like nothing but it can get quite difficult to accomplish. Infil and extraction all without dying can be difficult at the best of times.
It is made more complicated by the fact the Tempus Torrent does not spawn in regular places in DMZ. It is completely randomly generated where the weapon appears.
The best way to find the gun is to loot every body of enemies that you take down. Any of them may have the Tempus Torrent in their loot, so make sure to check everything.
It can be found on any AI enemy but there is no set probability on the drop. It could be the first enemy you kill or the 50th. After finding it, you also need to make sure that you safely extract with the Tempus Torrent in hand.
Another way you can go about things, if you want to be done a bit quicker, is to find a friend who already has the gun unlocked. Head into DMZ together and have your friend drop the gun for you, upon extraction with it, you will have it unlocked.
