Here’s everything you need to know about the goals, strategies, and economic differences of the Terrorists in CS2.

In the real world, you'd probably want nothing to do with Terrorists. In CS2, though, the Terrorists are an important part of the lore and the gameplay. Many love being on their attacking side, as it sets them up for a potentially fruitful CT half, and a resounding victory.

The goals are different on the T-Side, and that's why we're here. We'll walk you through how their economy works compared to the Counter-Terrorists, as well as give you some strategic tips to make the most out of your T-Side endeavors.

Of course, you'll be doing more dastardly deeds as the Terrorists in CS2. You won't be saving anyone or preventing a city block from being leveled. Instead, you'll be doing the complete opposite. So, here are a handful of game modes and what the objectives of the T-Side are in them:

  • Assassination: Defeat any Counter-Terrorists and assassinate the assigned VIP.
  • Hostage Rescue: Eliminate all Counter-Terrorists before they rescue the hostages.
  • Escape: Fight your way through the force of Counter-Terrorists to the escape zone.
  • Bomb Scenario: Eliminate all Counter-Terrorist players or plant a bomb on one of the site locations, holding your ground until it detonates.

Bomb Scenario, or Bomb Defusal, is the most common mode in Counter-Strike 2. It is the one the pros player to make millions of dollars, so it will probably be the one you find yourself in. Keep that in mind as we focus on this mode for the rest of our guide.

How the CT economy differs from the T-Side

The CT team has an assortment of different weapons and equipment when compared to the Terrorists in CS2. You've got more scrappy weaponry on your hands that can be beneficial depending on how you focus your efforts.

Money reigns supreme when it comes to buying weapons and equipment. So, let's start with the more important ways to add funds to your buy phase:

  • Receive $3250 for eliminating the enemy team.
  • Receive $3500 if you win by detonating the bomb.
  • If the bomb is planted, but the round is lost, each Terrorist receives $800.
  • Plant the bomb for that player to earn a $300 bonus.

Those are where you'll earn the most cash in Counter-Strike 2. Of course, different kills with different weapons and equipment will net a variety of cash payouts. As well, there is a tiered structure for teams on consecutive losing streaks. You won't have to worry about that if you keep on winning.

So, now that you know where you should double down to earn the most money possible as the Terrorists in CS2, we'll go over what you can buy with that money. Marked with an asterisk are all of the exclusive T-Side weapons and equipment.

Terrorist strategy in CS2

Lastly, we will give you some strategic tips you can use as the Terrorist side in CS2. Your job is to get the bomb down, let it detonate, or eliminate all the CT players by any means necessary. These tips will help you do so.

  • Learn smoke or molotov lineups on the matchmaking maps. You'll be able to get a smoke down to conceal your push or molly off a common location for CT players to be, pushing them away. This can also help you grenade or molly the bomb from off-site if you plant it.
  • Make sure the bomb-holder does not wander off on their own. If they get picked, you'll have to scramble to recover the device from wherever they went solo.
  • Mix up your tactics often to keep the CT-Side guessing. Rush A fast one round, push mid slow the next, rush A fast again, then fake a B hit and go A one more time. Something like that will catch them off guard frequently.
  • Stick to the game plan. Don't hesitate when you're trying to execute. You've got plenty of rounds to work with, so if you push a site and it didn't work, don't beat yourself up. Use those rounds to get a feel for how the CT-Side is playing and take advantage of that knowledge.

You'll need good aim and communication, obviously, to help you win any game of Counter-Strike 2. Still, as the Terrorists in CS2, you can make it a lot easier on yourself by sticking to the tips we've given above.
