Some Deadlock heroes are much easier to play than others.
Deadlock has several heroes that require a lot of practice and some solid mechanical skill to play correctly, but also some that are much easier to learn and can be fun right away. For those new to the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) or hero shooter genres, you may want to consider trying out these three heroes before moving to the more advanced characters. Here's our Deadlock beginner heroes guide.
#1: Seven
Of all the heroes in Deadlock, Seven is perhaps the most straightforward and easiest to pick up quickly. This is thanks to abilities that are easy to use, a powerful gun, and one of the most fun, yet simple, ultimate abilities in the game. You have a lot of freedom in how you play Seven as well. His gun can be viable enough to build into, but a Spirit build can also be quite strong.

#2: McGinnis
Next on our list is McGinnis, who has some really fun builds revolving around her turrets. These can end up dealing loads of damage in the late game and don't require any aim from the player to get value from.
In the early game, McGinnis has a heal that is very useful if you are struggling with taking damage, as well as a pretty straightforward wall. Pair all of this with a strong gun and an ultimate that can be devastating. All in all, this is a perfect hero for someone new to the game, new to the genre, or someone who still feels like they need to work on their mechanical skill a bit.
#3: Grey Talon
If you fancy yourself a sniper and like to stay out of fights, Grey Talon is a perfect starter hero. The long-range archer has a great ability for poking early in the first slot, and has an ultimate that can be really fun to scale in the late game.
However, Grey Talon is really all about range and staying out of the fray. Playing with a hero like this can feel much easier, as you don't have to dodge, parry, or worry about getting dived quite as much — thanks to your mobility and range.
We hope these three heroes are good starting points for those new to Deadlock, and we wish you luck in your first few games. For more Deadlock content like this, stay tuned on esports.gg!
