A handy fusion rifle landing in time for the season of the fusion rifle.
Fusion rifles are all the rage again in Destiny 2 thanks to Episode: Heresy, and it wouldn't be an episode without a new Special fusion from the seasonal loot pool: Afterlight. This Adaptive Frame Void fusion has several god rolls for PvE and PvP.
Here's a look at the best perks for Afterlight in Destiny 2, arriving midway through Episode: Heresy.
What is the Afterlight god roll in Destiny 2?

Afterlight PvE god roll
Column | Perk(s) |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Battery | Accelerated Coils |
Trait 1 | Lead From Gold Ambitious Assassin |
Trait 2 | Destabilizing Rounds Reservoir Burst |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod | Runneth Over (Origin Trait) Reload Speed (Masterwork) Heavy Ammo Finder (Weapon Mod) |
We've got a couple of avenues here with Afterlight in PvE. Destabilizing Rounds is an awesome perk when paired with a Void subclass and fragments that combo well with Volatile. Bubble Titans, eyes up!
Lead From Gold is one of two picks to pair with Destabilizing Rounds as you'll get ammo for Afterlight from both Special and Heavy bricks. The second option in column one is Ambitious Assassin for an increased magazine size after landing a final blow.
If you prefer Ambitious Assassin, or don't have much use for Volatile, switch Destabilizing Rounds for Reservoir Burst. The extra shots provided by Ambitious Assassin will be boosted thanks to Reservoir Burst, and you'll still have that add-clear potential too!

Column | Perk(s) |

Barrel | Corkscrew Rifling |
Battery | Projection Fuse |
Trait 1 | Under Pressure |
Trait 2 | Cornered |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod | Willing Vessel (Origin Trait) Range (Masterwork) Ballistics (Weapon Mod) |
Afterlight is a well-rounded weapon with decent perks in PvP, too. I'm liking the look of Under Pressure, for extra stability at low ammo (which you'll be at often), paired with Cornered for faster charge time when surrounded by enemies.
The one stat Afterlight lacks is range, so look to boost that with a range masterwork or the Ballistics mod. This will cost you an Ascendant Alloy, but will make Afterlight a little more consistent in the Crucible.
How to get Afterlight in Destiny 2

Afterlight is an Episode: Heresy weapon set to arrive during Act 2. The new update goes live Tuesday, March 11 at the weekly reset.
As with the other seasonal weapons, running The Nether will be your best bet at getting Afterlight. Using your Tome of Want, you'll be able to focus drops on episodic fusion rifles for a higher chance at getting the weapon.
You can't craft Afterlight. You'll need to level the weapon up to unlock enhanced perks. For more Destiny 2 news and guides head to esports.gg.
