Which Destiny 2 preorder bundle will you be getting your hands on? We’re breaking each one down!

Amidst worries that Bungie was dropping Destiny 2, developers have revealed what is to come during the Year of Prophecy — the next 12 months of the looter shooter — with The Edge of Fate arriving first in July 15. Players need not wait to get their hands on The Edge of Fate or Year of Prophecy with preorder bundles for the Destiny 2 expansion now available!

We're breaking down exactly what each preorder bundle gets you for Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate and Year of Prophecy.

Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate Standard Edition - $39.99 USD

  • Access to The Edge of Fate campaign, launching July 15.
  • Access to Kepler, new destination.
  • Access to the next Destiny 2 raid, launching July 19.
  • One active Rewards Pass for the new season.
  • Exotic Anisotropic Ghost Shell.
  • Eternal Sights Emblem.

The Edge of Fate Standard Edition is the base item available to kick off the Year of Prophecy. For $40, you'll be able to access all of the new content arriving on July 15 including the new planet Kepler, new Dark Matter abilities like Matterweave, July 19's Raid, all of Kepler's weapons and armor, and the seasonal campaign.

This $40 price tag is expected to be the norm for single expansions going forward. This bundle does not include the second expansion of the year, Renegades.

Destiny 2 Year of Prophecy Standard Edition - $79.99 USD

  • All Standard Edition items above.
  • Access to The Edge of Fate campaign, launching July 15.
  • Access to Renegades campaign, launching December 2025.
  • Access to both the new Raid (July 19) and Dungeon (TBC).
  • One active Rewards Pass, three Rewards Passes.

The Year of Prophecy Standard Edition will likely be the most popular of the bundles. For $80 you'll receive access to The Edge of Fate and Renegades, including the Raid and Dungeon, plus Rewards Passes for each three-month "season."

Destiny 2 Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition - $99.99 USD

  • All Standard Edition items above.
  • Enneachord Exotic Sparrow.
  • New Last Beyond Exotic sniper rifle, catalyst, and ornament.
  • Dark Side Legends Star Wars armor ornament bundles.
  • Secret Stash Currency Pack:
    • One Exotic cosmetic, one Exotic Cipher, two Ascendant Alloys, three Ascendant Shards — all given each season.

For those wanting to get their hands on some rewards right now, the Ultimate Edition preorder is for you. You'll get everything mentioned in the Year of Prophecy Standard Edition, plus a few goodies that can be redeemed immediately!

Aside from the Exotic Sparrow and a few Star Wars armor bundles, most players will be picking up the Ultimate Edition for the rehashed Exotic sniper rifle New Land Beyond. The weapon will be made available to all players eventually, but if you want it right now, you'll need the Ultimate Edition.

  • Manila envelope with lore, secret codes.
  • Strangler's Metal Badge (each unique to a collector's edition).

For the super Destiny 2 fan, there's the $275 Collection's Edition bundle, which contains everything we've mentioned in the Ultimate Edition plus some proper goodies you'll get in-person.

Between the secret lore envelope containing hints about the future lore to a metal badge with a code, Bungie loves rewarding it's biggest fans with some hidden bonuses. To top it off, show off your love for Destiny with a 1/8 scale statuette of three Guardians — one of each class — in stunning metal and stone.
