Back to trick or treating in the Festival of the Lost.

Destiny 2’s annual Halloween event — Festival of the Lost returns later this October with spooky-themed armor ornaments, weapons, and new activities. Everyone’s favorite grandma, Eva Levante, will, as usual, be the event vendor offering new bounties, quests, and a ton of Halloween-themed rewards for everyone.

Festival of the Lost 2025 is shaping up to be an ambitious one, with Haunted Lost Sectors being finally replaced with entirely new activities. Simply put, there’s plenty of new and exciting spooky shenanigans on offer.

With that said, here’s everything you need to know about Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2025, including its start time and all the juicy details about new activities and rewards.

Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2025 begins on Oct. 21 at the weekly reset time. It will last for two weeks and conclude on Nov. 4. As such, you’ll have plenty of time to earn weapon god rolls, complete triumphs, and unlock the Ghost Writer seal.

Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2025 adds two new limited-time activities. Haunted Altars is a six-player PvP activity in which you face off against the Headless Ones, bosses who spawned at the end of Haunted Lost Sectors.

Unfortunately, there’s no info on the activity itself. Bungie did provide some context on why you’ll be facing Headless Ones again. It seems the pumpkin-headed bosses broke free from Haunted Lost Sectors and invaded Haunted Altars. On the other hand, Red Rumble is a three-player PvP activity, though we don’t know how it works.

Additionally, this year’s Festival of the Lost will add two new weapons for you to farm — Hushed Whisper and Gunburn. The Hushed Whisper is a precision-frame Strand Bow, which comes with a Holofoil variant. The Gunburn is a lightweight-frame Kinetic SMG.

Lastly, Arcane Embrace, the Heavy Burst Slug Arc Shotgun, makes a return from last year. It will also boast a Holofoil variant.

Like previous years, you can expect new goofy Festival of the Lost masks to spice up trick-or-treating. These include ones based on Lodi, Oryx, Orin, and Failsafe, among others.

Speaking of cosmetics, this year’s Slasher and Specter-themed Festival of the Lost armor ornaments arguably have some of the best spooky designs we have seen so far in Destiny 2. Titans get a daunting Jason Vorhees-themed armor set, whereas Hunters get a hauntingly beautiful Ghost Face-themed set. Meanwhile, Warlocks get a dashing, Slender Man-themed set.

That’s all the new additions coming to Destiny 2 in the Festival of the Lost 2025.
