For the umpteenth time, The Palindrome worms its way back into Destiny 2.
Ladies and gentlemen, for your consideration: The latest edition of The Palindrome is back in Destiny 2 — and it's got a god roll you won't want to miss!
I've lost count of how many times this 140 RPM hand cannon has been remastered, but it's back with new origin traits and some awesome Arc perks in Episode: Heresy. Here's a look at the new Palindrome god roll in Destiny 2.
What is The Palindrome god roll in Destiny 2?
The Palindrome PvE god roll
Column | Perk(s) |
---|---|
Barrel | Corkscrew Rifling |
Magazine | Tactical Mag |
Trait 1 | Explosive Payload Outlaw |
Trait 2 | Rolling Storm Master of Arms |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod | Wild Card (Origin Trait) Reload Speed (Masterwork) Backup Mag (Weapon Mod) |
The new Palindrome arrived with Episode: Heresy which is primarily an Arc season. As a result, you'll find the new perk Rolling Storm on this beast — one of few primary weapons that can roll this trait.
It's sure to be a popular pick for Arc Titans and Warlocks building into Bolt Charge stacks. I'm personally pairing it with Outlaw for faster reload speed on precision kills, but I can also see the benefit of Explosive Payload to stagger red-bar enemies.
If you aren't about the Bolt Charge stacks, Master of Arms returns as an option here. This perk, popular from the Recluse days, grants a stacking damage buff after a kill. It'll be ideal with Outlaw for that classic stacking damage primary.
Wild Card is my Origin Trait pick as kills from Rolling Storm proc the Telesto-grenade effect. Stunning Recovery also works for those planning on taking The Palindrome into Grandmaster Nightfalls.

Column | Perk(s) |
---|---|
Barrel | Hammer-Forged Rifling |
Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
Trait 1 | Explosive Payload Closing Time |
Trait 2 | Master of Arms Magnificent Howl |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod | Vanguard's Vindication (Origin Trait) Range/Stability (Masterwork) Ballistics (Weapon Mod) |
Like in PvE, there are a few routes you can take for Palindrome in the Crucible. Explosive Payload returns, with the perk ignoring range for part of the bullet damage and applying extra flinch onto hit targets. Closing Time is also available in column one for The Palindrome which helps boost handling and range.
If you're a great shot, Magnificent Howl is an awesome perk for this 140 RPM hand cannon, with extra damage bullets granted when reloading after a precision kill. You can also go for Master of Arms again here, but the short duration means you'll have to chain kills together quickly for the maximum benefit.
How to get The Palindrome in Destiny 2
The Palindrome is available to players by completing the weekly Nightfall. The new version of The Palindrome dropped from the Feb. 25, 2025 reset. You'll have a week to get your hands on one by running Nightfalls; the higher the difficulty, the higher the drop chance. Adept versions drop from Grandmaster Nightfalls each with extra perk options and a different color palette.
Once you get your first one, head to Zavala in the Tower to reroll your Vanguard Engrams for copies of the weapon. The Palindrome can't be crafted; once you've got the roll you want, enhance the weapon for upgraded perks.
