Get your wallets ready, it doesn’t come cheap.

Fans of the Crystal Maiden Persona are getting a very special gift this Frostivus with a brand new variant. Here’s how to get it.

Frostivus has something for everyone. Competitive grinders have a new patch to dig into, free players get some nice sprays and emotes, and high-rollers have a ton of new skins to collect. The two big ticket items this Frostivus are special remixes of top-tier skins for Wraith King and Crystal Maiden, with the latter getting her very first Persona variant.

Here’s an in-depth look at the Guardian Snow Angel Persona for Crystal Maiden and how to get it before Frostivus 2023 is over.

Guardian Snow Angel arrives for Crystal Maiden

This is the first Persona variant for Crystal Maiden’s Conduit of the Blueheart Bundle. As with other variants, players who get the new Frostivus version will automatically get the base skin as well.

The set keeps Crystal Maiden’s new canine form but adds purple to the color palette with a new costume. It features a festive mask and snowglobe emblem on the chest. Blue gauntlets accentuate her claws, which now glow bright blue. The standout piece is the saddle, which comes with an optional baby Crystal Maiden that dominates the skin when viewed from above. It’s possible to remove the Frost-Touched Fosterling with an alternate style.

The Guardian Snow Angel also comes with a variant for the pet, which can be used with the Crystal Maiden Arcana. It gains a purple scarf and a jewel on its forehead as well as a longer mane and a brighter color palette. Crystal Maiden players who use the Arcana still have something to gain from the new premium set.

Can you get the Crystal Maiden Frostivus Persona for free?

While it's possible to get a ton of Frostivus chests for free in this event, players must spend money to get the new Crystal Maiden Persona. There’s no way to get it for free.

In fact, the price of the Persona can vary wildly. It’s possible, though highly unlikely, to pull it on your very first Forstivus chest for just $2.49. The maximum varies, but thanks to the returning trade-up system from the Dread Reckoning event, we can calculate the maximum price.

If a player rolls a Tier 1 skin for every single Frostivus chest they open, it will take 125 skins to guarantee a trade-up for a Tier 4 item. There are two Tier 4 items to get, so players will be flipping a coin even then. Assuming the worst-case scenario, players will need to open 250 Frostivus chests to get the Frostivus Crystal Maiden Persona variant guaranteed.

At $2.49 a key, that adds up to a maximum price of $622.50. If you do plan to purchase the Persona, the best time would be right after the Frostivus event ends. It currently sells for around $75 on the Steam Market, but prices should drop as more enter the market.

Guardian Snow Angel comes with free CM Persona

While the new set costs money, players who missed out on the original Crystal Maiden Persona will be happy to learn that Guardian Snow Angel grants the original version of the Persona at no extra cost. Players will be able to equip the original wolf skin as a separate skin. If you didn't grab it during the 2022 Battle Pass, this will likely be the only way to grab it for quite some time.
