Sidekicks are the newest addition to Fortnite's growing list of cosmetic options. These companions vary in size and species while offering a few different customizable options. Beyond just spending your V-Bucks, you can also earn Sidekicks Points, allowing you to unlock additional cosmetics for your Fortnite pet.

How can I earn Sidekick Points in Fortnite?
You can earn Sidekick Points, which are basically XP, merely by playing "compatible Fortnite experiences" with your Sidekicks equipped. That could be Battle Royale, Zero Build, and other game modes where you can equip your Sidekick.
There is a separate option in the 'Quests' tab, which allows you to track your progress. Once you have earned enough Sidekick Points, you can add more accessories to your companion.
For example, the Bonesy Sidekick Questline allows you to unlock two different sweaters, a Reaction, and an Emote. These are available free of charge after you have purchased and finalized your initial Sidekick purchase.

- Open any of the Sidekicks in the Fortnite Item Shop
- Click on the 'Customization' icon as outlined in the image below
- Navigate to the 'Unlockable Rewards' tab at the top of the screen
How many points do I need to unlock the cosmetics?
This will ultimately depend on which Sidekick you unlock. Some Sidekicks have more unlockable rewards than others, so the amount of time you must invest may vary for each companion. For example, Doggo has eight rewards, while Bonesy has only four.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the Sidekick Quests have stages, which you can progress through by earning those Sidekick Points. For the Peels Sidekick, there are eight rewards, and each reward requires a specific amount of Points.
Although the customization of Sidekicks has drawn some criticism from fans, the additional rewards at least offer something more after you've locked in your design. Does that make Sidekicks worth it? That's only a question you can answer.
