Here’s everything you need to know about Boons and Medallions in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4!

A new Fortnite season is upon us, which means much more than some map changes and new weapons. Boons and Medallions have become a critical addition to the game since their introduction many seasons back. As expected, Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 will introduce a new round of both for players to learn and master.

This article outlines all of the new Boons and Medallions included in the latest Fortnite season, including how you can acquire them and what benefits they provide.

All Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 Medallions explained

The Season 3 Medallions we've all become familiar with will soon be a thing of the past. In their place will be three new ones: the Surge Medallion, Springleg Medallion, and Carapace Medallion. From the outset, all three appear balanced, but one might emerge as the most desirable.

  • Surge Medallion: Acquired by defeating the Queen at The Hive points of interest (POI). This Medallion increases movement speed and gives a burst of speed when sliding.
  • Springleg Medallion: Acquired by defeating the Queen at the Ranger's Ruin. This Medallion grants the ability to double jump while negating all fall damage.
  • Carapace Medallion: Acquired by defeating the Queen at Demon's Domain. This Medallion gives 50 health when eliminating an opponent and passively grants 3 Shield per second up to 50 Shield.

All three are helpful in their own right, but the Carapace Medallion could end up being the preferred option. It reduces the importance of carrying healing items and rewards. Although the Springleg Medallion is a sneaky solid option, based on the description.

How about the new Boons?

Now that we've covered the Medallions, let's address the new Boons set to spawn into Fortnite on Aug. 7. Some of these are relatively straightforward, while others revolve primarily around the new O.X.R. ranking system and drop pods.

First, we'll cover the more basic Boons, including the Agile Aiming, Extended Magazine, and Storm Forcecast versions. These are all simple, and we have provided a brief description of what you can expect below:

  • Agile Aiming Boon: Reduces recoil and spread while aiming down sights, while also allowing you to maintain more of your movement speed than normal
  • Extended Magazine Boon: Increases clip size for all your weapons
  • Storm Forecast Boon: The next Storm circle is always revealed to you

Like the Medallions, the three Boons explained above should be valuable assets in a given Fortnite match. However, the clear winner is the Storm Forecast Boon. Few things are better in Fortnite than knowing where the next Storm circle will move at all times.

Now the Super Soldier Boon is a bit more complex. The benefit to the player depends on your O.X.R. rank in a Fortnite match. For example, those who are at Rank B will receive a lesser boost than another player at Rank S+.

Super Soldier Boons by Rank

  • Rank B: Reduces Energy consumption when sprinting.
  • Rank A: Rank B ability + increases reload speed.
  • Rank S: Rank B and A abilities + reduces weapon recoil and spread.
  • Rank S+: Rank B, A, and S abilities + increases sprint speed and gives you unlimited Energy.

Those breakdowns should provide you all the tools required to build your loadouts from a Medallion and Boon perspective in the new Fortnite season.
