How to get the Birthday Medallion in Fortnite

Fortnite's seventh birthday celebration is officially underway, bringing an in-game party to popular game modes. Players can find party favors such as birthday cakes, Presents, Flare Guns, and Balloons. However, the Birthday Medallion is unique to this year's event. It progressively adds Balloons to your character, and you must have it to complete one of the birthday quests. Here's how to get the Birthday Medallion in Fortnite and a guide explaining the quest.

To find the Birthday Medallion, you must first find one of the Birthday Present items exclusive to this annual event. You can locate these by looting Chests, or occasionally, you may find one lying on the ground. Once you grab a Present, you can throw it on the ground and open the side to see what's inside. We found the Fortnite Birthday Medallion in our first present, so the spawn rate is generous.

Another option is to eliminate an opponent who has the Medallion, and you can take theirs. As the description states, the Fortnite Birthday Medallion causes your character to "gain Balloons over time." Once you add it to your loadout, you will see Balloons inflate the longer you have it equipped.

The associated Birthday Medallion Fortnite quest requires you to travel 777 meters while airborne with Balloons gained from the Medallion. This is the easy part since all you have to do is jump and allow the Balloons to do the work. The ideal approach is to jump continuously.

After traveling a distance of 777 meters (very clever, Epic), you will receive the "quest complete" notification, netting you 20,000 XP and potentially one of the free Birthday cosmetics. The event is only live until October 1, so knock them out before it's too late!
