Creating your coach and choosing an archetype
When creating your coach, you will be able to archetype, or backstory, from one of the following: Motivator, Recruiter, or Tactician. These will determine what kind of coach you will be initially.
From your base archetype, you can progress in multiple ways. You can become an expert in a single category like recruiting where you become an Elite Recruiter and excel on the recruiting trail. Alternatively, you can become a hybrid coach who is strong in multiple areas. For example, a Talent Developer who is great at both talent acquisition (Recruiting) and player development (Motivation). The ultimate goal is to become a Program Builder or CEO atop the world of college football.
College Football 25 coach progression in Dynasty mode
Once you have created a coach and chosen your archetype, you will work towards upgrading them and progressing your created coach. Whatever archetype you pick, you will still be able to progress however you choose across multiple different skill categories. However, you will have to complete certain tasks to upgrade your abilities and progress your coach. There are over 50 coach abilities.
An example the developers gave was a coach that wants to focus on specializing in fast-tempo gameplay could opt for the following coach skills:
- Battery Pack (Tier 1): Offensive players fatigue slower in hurry up
- Caught Napping (Tier 2): Increase delay to defenders looking to the sideline at the snap
- On Their Heels (Tier 3): Team composure boost for 1st downs gained while running hurry up
- Tipped Your Hand (Tier 4): Chance to see the defense’s coverage shell in hurry up
This is just one example of the many ways you will be able to tailor your coach to your team's needs in Dynasty mode. However, you'll also need solid coordinators to make this happen.

Coach carousel and hiring coordinators
Just like your head coach, your coordinators will also have skills and an archetype that you will want to create as much synergy with as possible to complement one another's skills. You will need to be strategic about what coaches you hire and when, thanks to the new five-week Coach carousel that will act like a coaching free agency period.
You'll have to not only find available coaches to fill out your staff, but they will also need to be good fits for your school based on different criteria like Scheme, Pipeline, or Coach Prestige. This also applies to your coach should you choose to look for greener pastures elsewhere.
After this, it will be up to you to manage your staff, level up your skills, and build a powerhouse program in College Football 25 Dynasty mode.
