This fight is all about timing your attacks and managing your stamina, especially the latter, as it could be the reason for Hinako’s painful demise early on in the encounter. As such, in this guide, we explain how to beat the Sakuko boss in Silent Hill f.
Silent Hill f Sakuko boss fight walkthrough
Simply put, the Sakuko boss fight in Silent Hill f is a dance of death. It’s all about observing Sakuko’s attack patterns, dodging at the right moment, and unleashing a counterattack(s), and stepping away before your stamina depletes.
Before you start stabbing Sakuko with the Naginata, make sure to collect all the healing items scattered in the arena. If you’re playing on hard difficulty, you can find two bandages on either side of the bridge, somewhat near the middle.
As soon as the fight starts, Sakuko will call Hinako a “traitor” and throw her long-range chain horizontally to deal devastating damage. She will also immediately pull the chain back, dealing double damage if you don’t dodge it at the right moment. This could one-shot you if you’re not careful.
Silent Hill f Sakuko boss fight tips and tricks
Every time you hear her call Hinako a traitor, get ready to dodge left or right to avoid her long-ranged piercing attack. If you happen to lunge towards her, you get a few seconds to deal a charged focus attack and stun her. However, she will turn around and use her chain to execute a sweeping attack. You can dodge in the opposite direction to avoid it and deal a counterattack from behind her.
The best time to unleash consecutive attacks on Sakuko is when she screams “Dodge This!” and lunges towards Hinako. It’s not only easy to dodge this move, but it also leaves Sakuko open for several seconds. You can use it to deal multiple light or heavy attacks of your own, though make sure not to deplete your stamina fully, as she will eventually use her melee weapon to deal a brutal attack.
Sometimes, Sakuko will do a lunging attack without screaming “Dodge This!” and will follow up with a melee attack. You can parry this one, though we don’t recommend trying it unless you’re confident, as it can completely wipe out Hinako’s health.
Once you have dealt enough damage, Sakuko will cover the entire arena in red mist and teleport to one of the corners to prepare for the glowing charged attack. Notice the direction of Sakuko’s voice and quickly run towards her to cancel her maneuver. On hard, it only takes two light attacks to interrupt her move. Once she’s stunned, quickly rain down a few attacks until she teleports to another area.
Sakuko will leave your stamina completely depleted, regardless of whether you interrupt her attack or not. Take a moment to recover, and once again, follow the direction of her voice to reach her quickly and interrupt her attack. The second phase of this boss fight begins after this encounter.
Thankfully, Sakuko will repeat the handful of her old moves with the addition of the glowing charged attack. The latter is the reason why we don’t recommend straying too far from her in this phase, as you won’t be able to reach her on time and lose health and stamina in the process.
If Hinako’s sanity is left, we recommend using focus attacks to end this phase as quickly as possible. Like before, the best time to deal damage is when she lunges towards you while screaming “Dodge This!”
Once you have dealt enough damage, Sakuko will once again cover the arena with the red mist and teleport to one of the corners. Find her quickly and interrupt her charged attack thrice to finish this boss fight.
Note: You can end this fight rather quickly if you perfectly dodge her attacks and fully replenish your stamina in the process. The easiest ones to dodge are the lunging and the long-ranged chain attacks. Alternatively, if you have Higashi, consume it to restore stamina and reduce stamina consumption for a set period of time. This could especially be helpful during the glowing charged attack phases.
