If you want to rule the seas with a larger ship, then the Bombardier Padewakang is the ship for you in Skull and Bones.

There are a variety of ship types in Skull and Bones. They differ in offensive and defensive capabilities, speed, and perhaps most importantly, size. If you want to upgrade the size of your ship, you can go up from small to medium by crafting a Bombardier, the Padewakang-class ship in Skull and Bones.

It is a DPS ship type with the Detonate perk. It comes with four furniture slots and five weapon slots. That is quite the upgrade from the small ships you're first capable of crafting when you start your pirating journey in Skull and Bones.

Note: If you're reading this during the game's final open beta, using a medium-sized ship during the beta is how you'll earn the "Cookie" The Lemur pet reward for the full launch.

The game says the blueprint for this medium-sized ship can be earned as a contract reward, but it seems to be pretty rare. Instead, you can go ahead and straight up purchase the blueprint from a Shipwright. It's a lot easier said than done, however.

We'll go over the lengthy steps required to get this larger ship, so you can add the Bombardier Padewakang to your fleet.

Sail to the East Indies

The East Indies is a long distance from where you start at Sainte-Anne. It is over 10,000m from your original Pirate Den hangout. As well, you probably won't be a high enough level to take on some of the ships you'll see along the way.

Nevertheless, you have to make the journey. Start from Sainte-Anne and set a marker right above the "E" of "East Indies" at the top right corner of the map. Set sail and avoid combat at all costs. Make the trip a bit longer if you have to by steering clear of others.

Once the map starts opening up and you can see the actual land, you'll notice a few settlements, factories, and a new Pirate Den appear. Continue sailing to the location you marked previously, as this is where the Bombardier Padewakang blueprint is purchasable in Skull and Bones.

Weave through the small islands and use your spyglass to identify the Telok Penjarah Pirate Den. When you get close, you'll enter a Safe Zone, much like you do near Sainte-Anne. Sail towards it until you are given the option to Disembark, then do so.

Locate the Shipwright and buy the Bombardier Padewakang blueprint

After you make land, move forward on the dock into the location. Take a left at the first set of stairs, as the set up is similar to Saint-Anne. Move past the Carpenter, and you'll find this location's Shipwright.

Speak with the Shipwright to open their shop menu. Navigate downward and you'll find the Padewakang ship blueprint. Purchase it for a fairly hefty price of 5,280 Silver. That will allow you to craft it at any Shipwright with the proper materials.

Collect the required crafting materials

Unfortunately, you can't just outright buy the ship itself. If you want the Bombardier Padewakang ship in Skull and Bones, you've got to deliver the resources needed to build it. Here's what you need to collect:

  • 18 Ironwood Plank
  • 15 Steel Ingot
  • 15 Fine Ramie
  • 4 Shellac
  • 4 Crude Saltpeter
  • 2,880 Silver

Thankfully, Skull and Bones provides the option to track blueprints. This shows you where you can find the materials needed on your map. Choose to track it, open your map, and start gathering everything you need.

Once you have the required materials, you're good to go. Head back to any Shipwright, whether it is at Telok Penjarah or Sainte-Anne. Choose the option to craft an item and select the Bombardier Padewakang-class ship.

Trade in the resources and Silver to the Shipwright. Watch as the ship is built and the sails are raised. It is now yours to rule the seas with. Add some cosmetics, kit it with powerful weapons, and you'll be on your way to Pirate Kingpin.
