Line Scraps aren’t just fabrics. They’re a way of life!
Linen Scraps are a type of common fabric that can be obtained almost everywhere in Hytale. Despite its rarity, it’s one of the most important early- to mid-game items, since it allows you to craft various tools, such as stronger weapons, pickaxes, and hatches.
However, what makes Linen Scraps a staple material is their role as a key ingredient in crafting Repair Kits. In Hytale, all equipped items, from weapons and armor to pickaxes and hatchets, degrade over time. While broken items can still be used, their effectiveness is noticeably reduced. To restore them to working condition, you will need Repair Kits.
So, if you’re about to enter a new underground cave in search of ores or you want to reuse any broken item, here’s a guide that will share the most efficient method of getting as many Linen Scraps as you can.
The best method for farming Hytale’s Linen Scraps
Linen Scraps are dropped by various humanoid creatures in the game, particularly the undead skeletons. There are various types of skeletons in the game, but the ones that you can spot early are the Skeleton Fighters in Zone 1 or Emerald Grove.

Zone 1 is the first zone that you can explore in Hytale, and it’s easy to spot a Skeleton Fighter or two if you look and walk around. They’re even easier to find at night, as you can occasionally see them holding torches from afar.
If you’re in need of a massive number of Linen Scraps, the creatures to beat are definitely the Sandswept skeletons in Zone 2, or the Howling Sands. This region is recognizable for its savanna and desert biomes. Sandswept Skeletons, like the Guards and Assassins, spawn regularly within this area, and they can occasionally drop two Linen Scraps upon defeat.

When fighting skeletons for Linen Scraps, make sure that you have enough resources to keep your avatar combat-ready, such as food and Repair Kits in case your weapon and armor break.
Tips for defeating skeletons in Hytale
As former humans, skeletons can block attacks with surprising precision. However, their main weakness is their low HP, so if you have a full set of armor and a reliable weapon, you should be able to defeat them in one-on-one combat.
Charge attacks can take down a skeleton in just two or three hits, so do not hesitate to use them whenever you have enough stamina. Blocking with a shield also helps preserve your HP and lets you deal with multiple enemies more safely, though it will further drain your stamina on top of charge attacks.
If your camp is far from the Howling Sands, using a horse is the fastest way to get there. Check out our guide on taming a horse in Hytale to learn how to find and ride one, helping you speed up your Linen Scrap farming.
