There have been some doubts about the possibility of Infinity Nikki being a multiplayer game. Here we’re going to clarify your questions.

Short answer: No, Infinity Nikki does not have a multiplayer option. However, you can still add friends and do some activities together, but not exactly in each other's world. Let me explain it to you better.

How do you connect with your friends in Infinity Nikki?

Infinity Nikki does not have a co-op mode in the sense that you can walk around the map with your friend and do tasks and exploration together. However, you can add friends in-game and do some activities at a distance like talking in the chat.

To add a friend on Infinity Nikki, you have to open your pear-pal (by clicking on your ESC button), select the "add friends" option, and in the superior right corner you'll see a bar where you can write your friends' game code. If you prefer to send your code, you just need to go to the same tab, click on the girl on your left, and copy your code.

Sharing pictures

There's a way to be closer to your friends that does not count as a multiplayer function but is a small step closer to it. After completing the second chapter of the quest The Truth is Close. Once you've completed it, you'll unlock the Snapshot function of the camera. When you take a picture in a certain location, your friend will see a pink hourglass floating in that location.

Interacting with that hourglass will show the picture you've taken and your friend can take another picture in the same location and share it with you. However, some players have been saying this hourglass takes too long to spawn on the map. Some players also complained on Reddit about how distracting this option can be in the game and asked Infold Games to add a feature where you can disable this option.

Will Infinity Nikki be multiplayer in the future?

Infold Games has not given many hints about it, but Kentaro Tominaga, sub-director of the game, said in an interview for IGN on August 23, that "it will be possible to upload pictures and share them with other players within the game". He also explained that, in the future, will be possible for players to join each other's worlds to meet and share their fashion ideas. “Also, while this might be added a while after the game’s release, we are planning to add a feature that lets players have their own home to which they can invite their friends".

He also addressed the worry about making a game accessible for people who have never played action games. "In open-world games, you traverse through a large world, and finding hidden secrets along the way is a big part of the experience,” he says. “I thought that combining platforming with this exploration element would result in a fun new kind of experience".
