The Finals Terminal Attack ranked mode explained

In The Finals Season 3, players get to duke it out in Terminal Attack to rise through the leagues. Ranked Terminal Attack is a five-versus-five (5v5) attack and defend mode. This is played over multiple rounds.

At the start of each round, teams are either the attackers or defenders. While the attackers must deliver a decryption key, the defenders must do their best to stop this from happening. Claim victory by achieving the best-of-13 (Bo13) score in ranked Terminal Attack or a best-of-seven (Bo7) score in the unranked version.

The Finals ranks

The game has six ranks in total. These include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Ruby. Ruby is a special rank that's only for the top 500 players. Other ranks grant rewards based on your highest achieved skill rating for the season, but with the Ruby rank, you must end the season in the top 500 to qualify for its rewards.

The Finals ranked system

The game dropped its old fame system to bring forth a skill-points system. Rank scores are now completely visible as well, allowing you to see your progression. This means at the end of each match, your rank score either goes up or down. How much this score increases or decreases depends on your opponent's skill rating.

The Finals Ranked Tournament explained

Ranked Tournament mode involves 24 players. The duration is three rounds as well. "This change should make matchmaking faster, make tournaments available to more players in different regions, and help improve the quality of skill-based matchmaking leading to closer games," according to Embark Studios.
