Here are all Highguard Wardens available upon Episode One’s release and how they compare to Legends in Apex Legends.
It's no secret that the folks at Wildlight Entertainment, the makers of Highguard, had histories working on Apex Legends. Here are all of the playable characters, known as Wardens, that Highguard has on release, and how they compare to some Legends in Apex.
All Highguard Wardens
Highguard has eight playable Wardens on release of Episode One. Here's a rundown of what each of them does, plus some comparisons we could draw from other titles like Apex Legends.
Once you're done make sure to check out our breakdown of Highguard Weapons, including weapon classes, damage, rate of fire and DPS.
Condor
Condor is a Recon Warden who specializes in playing around with information. Comparing her to a Legend, the closest matches would be Bloodhound and Crypto.
Her Ultimate ability Soaring Guardian is reminiscent of the Bangalore-Bloodhound combo that was prominent in the earlier days of Apex Legends, all in one package. Soaring Guardian launches 3 smoke clouds that reveal enemies within its wake.

Atticus
Atticus is an Assault Warden whose kit allows him to apply pressure to his opponents. His Tactical, Shockspear, is similar to Sparrow's Ultimate, Stinger Bolt in Apex Legends.

Atticus' Ultimate, Powerstorm, allows him to control an area and deal damage to it, like Bangalore and Fuse, but since he rises into the air, he is placed into a more vulnerable position. Think Pharah's ultimate from Overwatch.
Kai
As a Defensive character, Kai specializes in hunkering down and protecting his squad. This makes him reminiscent of Legends like Catalyst and Newcastle - the former for their identical abilities to play around already-existing structures, and the latter for their general defensive capabilities. All three of these characters can also construct their own walls for defense. Kai can not only create ice walls for cover, but he can also repair broken walls.

Mara
Mara is Highguard's only Support Warden. She plays around shielding allies and getting stronger as more enemies are defeated. Her Tactical Soul Armor is close to Conduit's, and grants allies an overshield that can absorb damage.
Meanwhile Mara's Ultimate Immortal Coil can be compared to Revenant's old Ultimate prior to his 2023 rework. While Immortal Coil does not grant a second life, it does create a new spawn point for your team.

Una
Una is a Defensive character whose strength lies in disconcerting enemies and controlling areas with explosions. When hearing this, the first Legend that comes to mind is Fuse.
Una's Tactical Forest Wisps summons spirits who lob concussion grenades at enemies. Meanwhile her ultimate Tree Walker summons a forest spirit that launches smaller explosive spirits at enemies. Some people just want to watch the world burn.

The spirits in Una's kit also aid her in getting loot, which makes the Gear Up phase a little easier. Very similar to Loba's Black Market Boutique in Apex Legends.
Redmane
Redmane is a Destruction Warden and is a force to be reckoned with, especially if you're a wall. He doesn't really invoke anyone specific from Apex Legends, primarily because Redmane's kit plays around the destructible environments of Highguard.

Given this, Redmane might be the most unique Highguard Warden, at least when it comes to comparing them to other hero shooters.
Slade
Slade is another Assault Warden and uses his pyrokinesis to deal damage and push enemies out. Think of him as a mix of Fuse with Mad Maggie's Riot Drill.

Slade also gets stronger the more enemies he eliminates. His Firestorm is a great way to pressure enemies, especially since its duration gets extended on kill.
Scarlet
Scarlet is an Assault Warden who is a great pick if you love flanking and using the terrain to your advantage. Her kit is specialized for picking off enemies: stealth like Wraith, portals reminiscent of Alter, and an Ultimate called Whirling Blades that refreshes on kill.

Highguard Episode One is out now. If you saw any of your favorite Legends above, then it might be worth giving their Highguard Warden counterpart a try.
