League of Legends weekly free champion rotation: April 9 to 16

There are 20 champions for you to choose.

As the League of Legends (LoL) roster continues to grow, unlocking all of the champions for free has become a tall task and players tend to be more strict about buying them. However, there is a weekly free champion rotation that allows players to experiment with them in unranked playlists before spending their money.

LoL currently has 167 champions, and every Tuesday, Riot Games makes 20 of them available for free. If you're looking to test a champion you have never played before, take a look at the current weekly free champion rotation in LoL.

League of Legends free rotation: April 9 to 16

The current 20 free champions available in LoL are:

  • Aphelios
  • Cassiopeia
  • Galio
  • Illaoi
  • Ivern
  • Jax
  • Kalista
  • Kindred
  • Kog’Maw
  • LeBlanc
  • Lulu
  • Mordekaiser
  • Rek’Sai
  • Renata Glasc
  • Shen
  • Vel’Koz
  • Vex
  • Xerath
  • Yorick
  • Ziggs

Although there are a lot of good picks in this week's LoL free champion rotation, three deserve the spotlight — Kog’Maw, Cassiopeia, and Rek'Sai. They have the highest win rate in solo queue of all the 20 champions over the past 30 days globally, according to OP.gg's statistics. Kog'Maw is sitting on a 52.95% win rate — the second best of all 167 champions. Meanwhile, Cassiopeia follows with 51.5% and Rek'Sai has a 51.29% win rate in the last month.

However, to use the free champion rotation, players must be at least level 11. This means that if you're new to LoL, you'll need to get some XP first.

When does the League of Legends weekly free champion rotation reset?

The free champion rotation in LoL is expected to reset on Tuesday, April 16, meaning 20 other champions will make their way into the list. When a new champion joins the LoL roster, it takes three weeks for them to be added to the free rotation.

That's all for now. However, be sure to stick around on esports.gg for more League of Legends news, guides, and updates!
