The new fifth anniversary music video for Wild Rift is packed with cool references and easter eggs to the League of Legends universe.
“Miss This Life” was announced as the new track to celebrate League of Legends: Wild Rift’s fifth anniversary. The song features NINGNING from aespa alongside Fairlane, and its music video brings vibrant animation filled with many references for fans to discover. Let’s dive into the top seven Easter eggs in the latest Wild Rift music video.
Arcane poster
One of the first references we see is the Arcane poster on the left wall of the main character's bedroom. It is very subtle, but we can see some details of the iconic poster, alongside some League of Legends symbols, like the Poro. This is one of the iconic posters of Season 1, featuring Vi, Caytlin, Jinx, Silco, Mel, Jayce, and Ekko.
From a different angle, right beside the poster, we see another iconic image from the Wild Rift. The Crystal Rose Sona skin is also shown as a poster. During the anniversary live, we get the information that Sona, alongside Lux and Yone, are the best-selling Crystal Rose skins.
Rell lore
One of the most interesting lore pieces was Rell's story. If you haven't read the Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf book or dug into Rell's lore, you might not recognize this scene. After being trained and adopted by Ambessa, Rell was kidnapped by The Black Rose, or more specifically, LeBlanc. She was forced to enroll in the Black Rose Academy, which led her to plan her escape route and destroy the school.
In the music video, The Black Rose controls Rell, shown through the black and red chains of LeBlanc’s E - Ethereal Chains. The video adapts a bit of this lore, showing Rell breaking free and transforming into the cavalry form we know so well.
Nidalee enters the Wild Rift
This isn’t exactly an Easter egg, but rather a direct nod to the new season’s release. Nidalee and Rell take center stage this season, though Nidalee stands out as the newest champion joining Wild Rift for the first time.
Merchandise easter eggs
Further in the room, the main character changes the posters and other decorations. We now have the Crystal Rose Seraphine skin in a poster, alongside some LoL merch all around the room. From the Elder Dragon plushie to the K/DA Ahri scale figure and the Akalia K/DA hat, we can find multiple references.
T1 are the LoL Worlds 2024 winners
Another interesting Easter egg in the “Miss This Life” music video is a nod to the LoL Worlds winners' announcement. In 2024, T1 claimed the championship, a detail cleverly shown through a breaking news alert on the main character’s phone. This reference also ties neatly into the ongoing LoL Worlds 2025, whose champion has yet to be decided.
Wild Rounds: SMASH
All the billboards in this scene serve as reminders of the Wild Rounds, the largest Wild Rift community event. It’s taking place from Nov. 14 to 16 in China, bringing together creators from around the world and Chinese pros to compete in 1v1s, 5v5s, and more. Check out more details about the event on the LoL: Wild Rift official news page.
These were the top seven Easter eggs and references in the Wild Rift birthday track, but there may be even more to discover.
