Check out our guide on mastering Obsidia the marksman hero in MLBB.

Obsidia is a unique hero in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) with a powerful late-game scaling potential. Similar to heroes like Cecilion and Granger, the Sovereign of Dark's End relies on constantly hitting or killing targets to build up her Passive: Return to Bone. She does not gain any energy stacks from jungle creeps. This means you can't use her in the Jungle role.

Her passive enhances basic attacks, providing an additional hit based on the number of stacks. This makes her a powerhouse when paired with on-hit effect items. Her Ultimate is a good chase mechanic where she sticks to enemies, making it nearly impossible to shake her off. This can be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on who the target is.

With that said, here is a guide on the MLBB marksman hero Obsidia, including her best items, skills, emblem, combos, and counters.

Skill analysis for Obsidia in MLBB

Passive: Return to Bone

When Obsidia deals damage to enemies, she generates Bone Energy (basic attacks against units and heroes, as well as skills, provide varying amounts of Energy, while creeps do not grant any). Once she accumulates enough Bone Energy, it condenses into Bone Shards, which can stack up to a limit. When Obsidia uses Basic Attacks, all stored Bone Shards strike the target, each dealing bonus Physical Damage that also carries a portion of her Attack Effects.

Skill 1: Abyssal Bone Needle

Obsidia hurls an Abyssal Bone Needle, dealing Physical Damage to enemies struck and triggering Return to Bone when it hits the first enemy hero.

Skill 2: Phantom Shadowmeld

Obsidia descends into the Abyss and enters Shadowmeld Form, briefly gaining a burst of Movement Speed.

Ultimate: Hunt of Bone

Obsidia unleashes the Bones of Wrath in a target direction, dealing Physical Damage and briefly stunning the first enemy hero struck before pulling herself toward them. The Bones tether her to the target, preventing her from straying too far while also disabling their displacement skills. Any movement they make drags Obsidia along.

While tethered, she gains temporary Bone Shards, can move through obstacles, and continues attacking as she moves. During this state, Phantom Shadowmeld is empowered, with its duration extended and its cooldown significantly reduced.

Best Obsidia item build in MLBB

Your goal is to spam your Skill 1, rapid-fire your basic attacks, and get as many stacks as you can. Start with Magic boots for the extra Cooldown. Follow it up with Corrosion Scythe for the stacking damage and on-hit slow, on top of gaining a bit of attack speed.

For your mid-game items, start with Demon Hunter Sword to start dealing more damage based on enemy HP. However, you can also swap this with a Sea Halberd if the enemy team has a solid healing or shield lineup. The next item will be the Golden Staff for even more attack speed.

The last two items you build will vary. The general combination is Malefic Gun for the extra Basic Attack range and Rose Gold Meteor for a bit of shield to keep you alive longer. However, if you think you need more sustain, you can swap one of the items with Haa's claws. If you manage to snowball early, consider getting a Blade of Despair for a massive damage boost.

To complement the item build above, use this Custom Marksman Emblem set:

Placing Swift in the first slot is self-explanatory. You need as much attack speed as you can get without compromising on damage. The second slot can be Weapons Master to further increase Obsidia's damage, including her Bone Shard attacks. For the final slot, go for the Weakness Finder for the on-hit slow and attack speed reduction effect.

For the Battle Spell, you need some extra mobility, something Obsidia lacks in her kit. Flicker and Sprint are good candidates. However, you can always go for Purify when the enemy team has a lot of Crowd Control effects. Don't even bother with Retribution. Obsidia is not designed to be a hero for the Jungle role.

Easy combo tips to learn

Obsidia gains Bone Energy with each target hit, except jungle creeps. Try to hit multiple targets with her Skill 1: Abyssal Bone Needle at once to maximize the effect. Even better if you can hit multiple heroies for the most Bone Energy gain.

Avoid using your Ultimate on enemies with Vengeans or skills with a similar mechanic like Belerick. You're going to have a bad time as you get hit with damage reflection effects. Focus on targeting the back line heroes like mages or marksmen.

The most common mistake marksmen players make is to be first in line in the team fight. Obsidia has little to no escape mechanics, with only Skill 2: Phantom Shadowmeld being her means of mobility. Always wait for your ally fighters and tanks to charge in first before committing to a fight.

Hero and item counters for Obsidia

Hero counters

If you have to deal with an enemy Obsidia, heroes that can move fast and stun-lock targets like Chou or Guinevere are good counter picks. If you are laning against her in the Gold Lane, heroes like Granger, Irithel, Moskov, or Lesley are good picks that can kite her easily. Basically, any hero that can close the gap is a good pick against her. She doesn't have much mobility, and she needs to keep a distance from her targets.

If you enjoy assassins, heroes like Saber, Fanny, Joy, Ling, and Lancelot are also good counterpicks. They have enough burst damage from their combos to quickly eliminate Obsidia before she can escape or counterattack.

Item counters

Obsidia is a ticking time bomb; her Bone Shards will eventually hit maximum. What you can do is slow down her attack speed or take her down before she can do the same.

With that said, Dominance Ice is a good starting item for fighters or tanks. This can reduce healing effects and slow down the attack speed of enemies attacking you. Another alternative is Blade Armor, which can reflect a bit of damage back to your attacker.

Slowing her movement speed can help you keep your distance from her. Items like the Ice Queen Wand for mages or the Corrosion Scythe for Physical Damage heroes are good options.
