Check out the esports.gg build guide on mastering the assassin hero Hayabusa in MLBB and become the master of shadows.

Hayabusa is one of the most annoying assassin heroes to play against in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) due to his ridiculous mobility and burst damage. He can easily dive into the thick of the team fight, perform his combo, and safely exit at a safe distance. Needless to say, this hero’s kit allows him to shine in competitive matches.

While this hero is easy to play, mastering his combo takes time and skill. To help you, here is a guide on how you can play Hayabusa in MLBB, including his best build, emblems, battle spells, combos, and hero counters.

Skill analysis for Hayabusa in MLBB

Passive: Ninjutsu: Trace of Shadow

Hayabusa's attacks apply a stack of Shadow Mark on hit, stacking up to several times. Each stack lasts for a few seconds and slightly increases the damage Hayabusa deals to the affected enemy.

Skill 1: Ninjutsu: Phantom Shuriken

Hayabusa throws multiple returning shurikens in the target direction, each dealing significant Physical Damage to enemies hit and briefly slowing their movement. Enemies struck by more than one shuriken take reduced damage after the first hit. Hayabusa recovers a small amount of energy for each non-Minion enemy he hits.

Passive: Hayabusa permanently gains a small amount of Spell Vamp over time.

Skill 2: Ninjutsu: Quad Shadow

Hayabusa dashes in the target direction and releases several phantoms that travel in separate directions. The phantoms will either remain at the end of their paths or attach to the first enemy hero they hit, dealing moderate Physical Damage and slowing them for a short duration. Hayabusa will immediately stop if he collides with an enemy hero during the dash.

Use Again: Hayabusa teleports to a phantom's location and slightly reduces the cooldown of Ninjutsu: Phantom Shuriken. If the phantom is attached to an enemy hero, it also deals additional Physical Damage to the enemy.

Ultimate: Ougi: Shadow Kill

Hayabusa blends into the shadows and rapidly strikes enemies in the area multiple times, each attack dealing considerable Physical Damage. The attacks prioritize enemies affected by Shadow Mark, consuming a mark to deal additional bonus damage. This skill does not apply new Shadow Marks.

Best Hayabusa item build in MLBB

Unlike other assassins, you start with Magic Boots for the extra Cooldown Reduction and spam more of your abilities. Afterward, go for Hunter Strike to increase your single-target damage. Follow it up with Sky Piercer for the Lethality passive that can instantly kill low HP enemies.

Once you reach mid to late game, you need a bit of sustain. War Axe will give you just enough Spell Vamp to survive most teamfights. Endless Battle will allow you to deal True Damage with each skill cast. As for the final item, go for Malefic Roar for the Physical Penetration.

If you are struggling to survive or escape from enemies, you can switch your last item to Immortality or Winter Crown.

This emblem set should complement Hayabusa's item build:

The Custom Assassin emblem is the most recommended set for Hayabusa. For the first slot, choose Swift for the extra Attack Speed. The Second Slot should be Seasoned Hunter, a mandatory one for Junglers. For the final slot, go for War Cry for increased damage for multi-hit attacks.

For the Battle Spell, Retribution is mandatory if you are playing as the Jungler.

Easy combo tips to learn

The most basic combo is to use your Skill 2 to dash towards your enemy and set up your engage and escape options before attacking your target with Skill 1, then do a basic attack. Try to inflict as much Shadow Mark as you can on the enemy before using your Ultimate. Your target should have four marks before casting your Ultimate if you can do this combo.

Remember the positions of your shadows, they can come in handy later when you want to reposition. Also, enemies take damage if they get hit with your dash or shadows while using your Skill 2.

Once you are done with your combo or if you need a quick escape, simply teleport to one of your shadows. You have plenty of opportunities to confuse your enemies with your Skill 2. Keep in mind that the shadow disappears after you teleport to it.

Hero and item counters for Hayabusa in Mobile Legends

Hero counters

Due to Hayabusa's mobility, heroes that can lock him down with Crowd Control effects like Saber, Minsitthar, Kaja, and Chou are hard counters. Alternatively, if you can land a good combo, Jawhead is also a good counter. However, you need to be quick before the shadow ninja can teleport away.

Item counters

Items that can reduce burst damage, like Twilight Armor, Antique Cuirass, and Queen's Wings, are good item counters for Hayabusa.

However, if these items don't fit your hero, you can simply build Immortality and Wind of Nature for Marksman or Winter Crown for Mages.
