Check out our ultimate beginner’s guide to Silver and Blood to help you make the right choices and avoid wasting time and resources.

Silver and Blood (SAB) is a hero-collector role-playing game (RPG) that follows the aesthetics of gothic-vampire media like Castlevania and Hellsing. Its art style is distinct, with a watercolor palette of somber hues paired with a cast of alluring unlockable characters giving off a haunting yet seductive vibe.

If you’re just starting out, Silver and Blood can be confusing with all the gameplay features and mechanics it throws at you. It can be overwhelming at times, especially if you are not used to a tutorial section that lasts for about two hours if you don't skip cutscenes.

With that said, here is a beginner's guide for Silver and Blood. We'll share some tips and tricks on what to do in the game. We’ll cover the key features you need to understand, what to prioritize early on, and common pitfalls to avoid as you progress.

Claim all available redeem codes

For our first Silver and Blood tip is to keep an eye out for redeem codes that you can use. These codes can be found on official social media handles or shared by sponsored content creators. You can get a ton of free stuff with these codes, including Moon Tears and Embrace tokens, which are very important to unlocking vassals in the game.

If you want the latest active codes listed in one place, check out our Silver and Blood redeem codes guide. Always check for new codes to redeem so you don’t miss out on free resources, especially Moon Tears that you can use for Embrace pulls.

Invest in the right vassals

Prioritize the vassals you need since you can't upgrade them all at the start (Screenshot via esports.gg)

Every vassal is powerful in their own way. However, there are exceptional ones that can help you with most of the content in the game. This saves you a lot of resources compared to investing in multiple ones that are less flexible. These powerful vassals are usually the ancestral types that are super rare and hard to get in the game. Other times, they can be newly added characters in the game.

With that said, you can check out our Silver and Blood tier list for updated information on the best vassals you can use and which artifacts to equip. Of course, if you just want to have fun and invest in the characters you want, even if they are not high up in the meta, go ahead. At the end of the day, what’s important is for you to have fun.

Do limited-time and permanent events

Recent limited-time events in SAB require you to complete daily challenges. This means you might miss out on a lot of resources if you skip a day. Make sure to check out the events and complete them when necessary. They often give out Moon Tears and Embrace tokens on top of other materials needed to upgrade your vassals.

As for the permanent events, try and complete them when you can. They often give out a ton of free stuff, but it takes time to complete. One of the long-term events gives you a free SSR character, Bella, which is one of the best starter tanks you can have in the game.

Progress through the story

Another important tip, especially if you are just starting out in Silver and Blood, is to progress through the story. Not only will you get massive amounts of resources, but your Moonlight Tribute level also increases every five stages you clear. On top of that, you get Moon Tears every time it levels up. For context, the Moonlight Tribute passively accumulates resources even while you are offline. The higher the level, the more it can generate per hour.

Aside from that, progressing through the story also unlocks more content in the game, especially in the Lost Courtyard section, where you can farm upgrade materials and equipment. Fortunately, story stages don’t require any form of stamina. This means you go through them as many times as you want.

Unlock Castle expansions

Continuing from the previous tip for Silver and Blood, more sections of your castle unlock as you make progress in the story. These sections are very important to improve the stats of your vassals. Do not ignore unlockable sections of your castle.

Avoid spending Moon Tears in Transfusion slots

The Transfusion can be deceiving when you first start the game. You are not told how to expand it, aside from spending 500 Moon Tears. However, there is a way to add more slots for free just by expanding your castle in the game. The Observatory unlocks a ton of in-game features, including an upgrade to your Tranfusion slots if you upgrade it. However, keep in mind that this can be an expensive investment. But it's way better than spending Moon Tears to get one Transfusion slot.

Max out your friends list

One thing most players neglect is making friends in the game. You don’t necessarily gain anything substantial by adding random friends, as there is little to no way to interact with them.

However, every day, you can receive a Dusk-veiled Ribbon from your friends. You can get 30 of these per day, which is the maximum number of friends you can have. This token is used to draw from the Celestial Concerto banner. It’s free, and you don’t have to do much for a chance of getting an SSR.

Complete daily Lost Courtyard activities

The Lost Courtyard is where you can do daily and end-game content. Don’t forget to always do the daily tasks in this section. Here’s a quick rundown of the daily tasks you can find here:

  • Infinite Abyss: Raid challenges that change every day.
  • Blood Arena: Free Arena Passes daily.
  • Timeworm Mausoleum: Get daily upgrade materials based on how far you can go.
  • Tomb of the Fallen: Clear the boss battle to get upgrade materials and equipment.

There are a lot of daily tasks to do in the Lost Courtyard. Make sure to complete them.

Do not spend Moon Tears for a PvP Blood Arena Pass

It can be tempting to purchase Arena Passes to climb the competitive rank. However, as a beginner in Silver and Blood, avoid doing that. Even if you make it up the ladder, you will find yourself fighting against players who invested a lot of money to max out their vassals. For starters, focus on upgrading your units and making progress in the game instead of PvP.

Invest in future vassal releases

If possible, stay updated on the next vassal to be released in the game. New releases tend to join the meta before another one drops. Save a few resources for new characters while also upgrading your currently existing ones.
