Take on Mega Absol in Pokémon GO with our Raid Guide.
Mega Absol is back in Pokémon GO Mega Raids. This powerful Mega Pokémon is one of the top 10 best Dark-types in the game and is a very useful addition to your collection.
Mega Absol is back via a special Raid Day, which means there are a whole host of bonuses avaliable. This includes five free Raid passes and an increased shiny chance when encountering Absol. In addition, all Absol caught during the Raid Day will know Brutal Swing, an exclusive move that is new to Absol.
Plus, you'll earn Mega Energy from these Raids that can be used on any Absol. So, if you have a good IV Absol already you just need to do enough Raids to get the Absol Mega Energy you need.
Best Mega Absol counters in Pokémon GO:
Mega Absol has a weakness to Bug, Fairy and Fighting-type attacks. In addition it has a double resistance to Psychic-type attacks, and a resistance to Dark and Ghost-type attacks too.

The absolute best option for this Pokémon GO Mega Absol Raid Day is Mega Lucario, with non Mega Evolved Lucario also being a great option too. This Pokémon was recently back in Mega Raids itself, meaning that most Trainers should now have a decent Mega Lucario.
Otherwise, Terrakion is an excellent Fighting-type Pokémon and also appeared during the Road to Unova event. Timburr spawned during the Unova Tour, and its evolution Conkeldurr is a great budget option.
If you did any of the Tapu Koko Raids over the last week or so, this is also a very viable counter. You'll need a Tapu Koko that knows Natures Madness, but luckily that move was included if you caught it recently.
Can Absol be shiny in Pokémon GO?
Yes, the Absol you encounter after the Mega Raid can be shiny. The shiny odds are boosted during Raid Day.
