Pokémon GO April 2025 Spotlight Hours schedule & bonuses

April 2025 brings a new set of Pokémon GO Spotlight Hours. Once per week on a Tuesday, Trainers can encounter one specific featured Pokémon for an hour. There are also featured bonuses each week.

That makes Spotlight Hours a fantastic chance to get out and grind Pokémon GO. You can farm a lot of Stardust, XP, Candy, hunt shinies or even just grind for a specific type of one Pokémon.

Here are all the Spotlight Hours coming in April 2025.

All the April 2025 Spotlight Hours will take place in Pokémon GO on a Tuesday, between 6pm and 7pm local time. There will be a Spotlight Hour each Tuesday during February, and each one will have its own bonus.

Here are all the featured Pokémon and Bonuses coming in April 2025. There is a really good one in store, so mark your calendars!

April 1 is a day for mayhem and mischief, and Pokémon GO is no exception. The first April 2025 Spotlight Hour is being taken over by the Pokémon GO April Fools Day event, with special PokéBalls appearing all over the map. These can contain items or a few different Pokémon encounters.

Second up in April is a pretty good Spotlight Hour (though not the best this month!). 2x Transfer Candy is always a great bonus to have. You can get extra candy for clearing out your storage. In particular, this is a great time to trim down your extra legendary Pokémon from Raid Days, Raid Hours and other events. We don't need several of each Legendary, so use this as a chance to clear some space and get more candy in the process.

Of course, there is also a featured Pokémon. Meditite is a great Pokémon for PvP, with Medicham being meta in the Great League several times. Meditite also has a Mega Evolution, and is helpful for candy and XP bonuses when at Mega Level 3.

Next up is Fomantis, with 2x Evolution XP. Fomantis and its evolution Lurantis aren't very impactful Pokémon in the game. However, Fomantis can be shiny so this is still a good chance to get out and try and find that shiny if you don't have it.

For those of you working towards Level 50 however, 2x Evolution XP is a great way to grind towards your next level - especially with a Lucky Egg active. Evolve as many Pokémon as you can in the hour!

April 22 will see the absolute highlight of April 2025's Spotlight Hours. While it isn't quite as juicy as March 2025's Shellder Spotlight Hour, we are once again getting a 2x Catch Stardust alongside a boosted Stardust Pokémon.

Morelull awards 500 Stardust per catch, this will be boosted to 1000 or 1500 with a Star Piece during this hour. That allows you to grind a huge amount of Stardust during the hour, with 500k+ easily obtainable. It is important to note that Morelull is a hard catch, so consider using one of the Kyurem Adventure Effects to make it easier to catch.

Finally we have Abra and a great chance to once again work towards your next level up. Abra eventually evolves into Alakazam, a strong Psychic-type with a Mega Evolution. If you don't have a good Mega Alakazam yet, this is a great Spotlight Hour to do. Abra is a pretty easy Excellent Throw, so deploy a Lucky Egg and get to work.
