The Restless Spirits for the side quest in RuneScape: Dragonwilds are all over Ashenfall.
The Restless Ghosts is one of the first side quests you can encounter in RuneScape Dragonwilds. It's also quite long, though equally rewarding to see through to the end.
The gist of this quest is that you must find four restless spirits and help lay them to rest. They only appear at night, and you won’t be able to interact with them until you have the Ghostspeak Amulet.
Assuming you know where to find it, the next step is to locate all four Restless Spirits. In case you have no idea what or where you can find this amulet, you can check out our guide on how to speak to the Restless Spirit, where we pinpoint its location. As for the rest of it, here’s how you can complete the Restless Ghosts quest in RuneScape Dragonwilds.
All Restless Spirits locations in RuneScape: Dragonwilds
As mentioned above, there are four Restless Ghosts in Ashenfall. You can interact with the Ghostspeak Amulet or any of the Spirits to begin this quest.
Restless Ghosts quest: Spirit location 1 (Warren)

The first Restless Spirit is perhaps the easiest to locate. You can find Warren between some ruined walls on the edge of Bramblemead Valley. It’s southwest of the crumbling well where you found the Ghostspeak Amulet. You can find his exact location in the screenshot above.

Like the other Restless Spirits, Warren appears only at night, and you can spot his blue silhouette standing idly between the ruins. Talk to him, and he will provide hints for finding the other spirits.
Restless Ghosts quest: Spirit location 2 (Lazina)

You can find the second Restless Spirit near the Windmill in the Temple Woods region. Climb upwards from the tent where you first met Vannaka. Lazina is next to the dilapidated building on the right.
Restless Ghosts quest: Spirit location 3 (Finn)

The third Restless Spirit is by far the trickiest to find, especially since you will need to unlock a couple of skills before you can reach him. These are the Windstep Runic ability, which is unlocked at Runecraft level 8, and the Chop Thorny Vine skill, which is unlocked at Woodcutting level 20.

Once you have these skills, head southeast from the Wise Old Man’s location to the edge of the Bramblemead Valley. Now, look for the small opening in one of the cliffs, as marked in the screenshot above.

Here, you have to use the Windstep ability to double jump and hover over to the cave’s opening. You will notice some vines blocking the entrance of the cave. Use your Stone Logging Axe to chop the vine and find Finn inside the cave.

Restless Ghosts quest: Spirit location 4 (Kay)

You can find the fourth spirit deep within the Whispering Swamps. It’s a dark, misty place that seems right out of a FromSoftware game. There are two ways to reach this place.
Head northeast from the goblin castle and towards the towering pillar. Follow this route, and you will find yourself in Whispering Swamps in no time. From here on, it’s best to stick to the pathway on the left.
The swamp will restrict your movement and prevent you from dodging, making you more vulnerable to attacks from putrid rats, goblins, and other monstrosities.

This area is pretty dark, so you’re bound to run into various creatures. Fortunately, it also makes it easy to spot Kay, the bright blue Restless Spirit residing in this area.
There is another path underneath the goblin hideout on the northeast side of the Bramblemead Valley from where you can reach the Whispering Swamps. Once you’re here, simply stick to the right, and you will soon come across Kay. We recommend taking this path as you can easily spot the restless spirit from a distance.
Now that you have met all the Restless Spirits and experienced their tragic backstories, it’s time to lay them to rest.
How to lay Restless Spirits to rest in RuneScape Dragonwilds

You can lay to rest the spirits in the cemetery behind the Church in the Temple Woods. Head back to the starting area and look for the cemeteries in the back. You will find a Remembrance Shrine beside the second one. Remember all four Spirits you just met to complete the quest.
Doing so will get you a few Tomes, which provide XP to increase specific skills such as mining and cooking.
Unfortunately, we didn't complete this quest since there seems to be a bug that prevents the game from rewarding you with the tomes if there's no space in your inventory.
Jagex has yet to address the issue, so we don't know when a fix will arrive. We will update this section of this article as soon as there's an update.
