All VALORANT ranks in order

If you’re curious as to what all of the VALORANT ranks are in order, let esports.gg fill you in all the way from Iron up to Radiant.

The competitive queue in VALORANT assigns you a rank after you complete your placement matches. This happens at the start of every Act, with a rank reset when a new Act or Episode begins. VALORANT ranks go up and down depending on your performance in each match you play, with Iron being the lowest in the order and Radiant the highest.

All VALORANT ranks, except for Radiant, have three different tiers. The larger number means the closer you are to the next rank. As you progress through the ranks and earn RR from playing, you'll move to the next tier or rank after reaching 100.

Here are all of the VALORANT ranks in order:

  • Iron 1
  • Iron 2
  • Iron 3
  • Bronze 1
  • Bronze 2
  • Bronze 3
  • Silver 1
  • Silver 2
  • Silver 3
  • Gold 1
  • Gold 2
  • Gold 3
  • Platinum 1
  • Platinum 2
  • Platinum 3
  • Diamond 1
  • Diamond 2
  • Diamond 3
  • Ascendant 1
  • Ascendant 2
  • Ascendant 3
  • Immortal 1
  • Immortal 2
  • Immortal 3
  • Radiant

The best of the best will reach the Immortal and Radiant ranks. When you're there, you'll notice a new number attached to your rank. This is your place on the leaderboard. And while your rank won't go down from not playing, other players can progress past you and send you down the leaderboard.

Good luck proving to your region that you're the top VALORANT player by making it to Radiant #1.

How to begin your competitive queue journey

Previously, you were required to play 10 Unrated matches to unlock the competitive queue. To combat smurfing, Riot Games adjusted it and added Account Levels. Now, once you reach Account Level 20, the competitive queue is yours to conquer.

Play five placement games at the start of each Episode to earn your rank. If it is a new Act within an Episode, such as Act 2 or Act 3, you'll only have to play one placement match to determine your rank. From there, take some tips from our Entry Frag series and gain that RR.

How does the VALORANT rank system work?

Your competitive rank in VALORANT goes off of your RR and MMR. That is Rank Rating and Matchmaking Rating, respectively. Your RR is what is shown to you in-game. Each rank requires you to reach 100 RR before moving onto the next.

MMR is more complicated. It is a hidden rating that you can't see. So, your RR could have you placed in Silver 2, but you could be matched with high Gold players because the game's MMR sees you as much more competitive than your rank.

That then affects your RR gain. If your win in ranked lobbies where the other players are a higher rank, because of your MMR, then VALORANT will try and bring your RR to that same level. You'll gain more for a win and lose less for a loss.
