Ready to get rewarded for killing Queen Ansurek? Here’s how to unlock To Kill a Queen Quest in World of Warcraft.

Played through World of Warcraft: The War Within and finished the Azj-Kahet quest line and curious as to why there isn't a quest to kill Queen Ansurek like in previous end game zones? Don't worry, some of us were wondering the same thing until we found a little spider that ultimately led to us to our destination, the "To Kill a Queen" quest.

To Kill a Queen is your stereotypical “end of story” type quest, asking you to go kill the final boss of the current raid, but this time acquiring said quest is a bit more of a task than just finishing the zone campaign. Here's our guide to how to unlock the quest as well as our tips to do it as efficiently as possible!

How to unlock Webster for "To Kill A Queen" Quest

There are a few requirements you need before you can begin working on the quest chain that inevitably leads to To Kill a Queen. This will allow you to talk to a spider called Webster who is critical to unlocking the Kill a Queen Quest.

Requirement #1: Your character must be level 80

This one super straight forward, make sure whatever character you're trying to do this on is level 80!

Requirement #2: Renown Level Four with Khaz Algar factions

You'll need Renown Level Four with all the main Khaz Algar factions:

  • Council of Dornogal
  • Hallowfall Arathi
  • The Severed Threads
  • The Assembly of the Deeps

Requirement #3: Completed Part One of "The War Within" campaign

You must have completed at least the first part of the max level story campaign entitled “The War Within”.  If you have not yet started this campaign, simply go into your quest log and look for “Against the Current.”

The first chapter in the campaign is fairly quick. It starts with a quest called Surface Bound, followed up by Renown of Khaz Algar and leading into The Fleet Arrives. You can see the order of quests below:

  1. Surface Bound
  2. Renown of Khaz Algar
  3. The Fleet Arrives
  4. Embassies and Envoys
  5. There’s Always Another Secret
  6. What’s Hidden Beneath Dornogal
  7. Preparing for the Unknown
  8. Urban Odyssey

How to unlock the quest "To Kill a Queen"

Once you have completed the requirements above, head back to Dornogal and speak with a small spider named Webster (31.6, 62.8), who will offer the quest “Our Chance to Strike”, which will lead you to the Royal Apothocary in Azj-Kahet, where you will meet up with the Vizier. Once you are there, put up “The Beginning of the End” and follow the instructions to “disrupt” the Umbral Bazaar.

We found the easiest way to do this was to destroy all the propaganda holograms around the area, thought if you can kill the guards fast enough before being ejected from the city, this is also an option.

Once you have done this quest, pick up the next quest “A Spy Like Up” where you will meet up with Gut’usul in the Burrows.  Gut’usul will then offer two quests, “Defense of the People” and “Make Them Prey” which both take place down in the Burrows and upon completion you will be offered the quest “A Shot at the Top” which send you on a quest to kill Master Abductor Arzda.

Finally, once you have completed this, Executor Nizrek will offer you the quest “To Kill a Queen” which sends you into Nerub-ar Palace, to kill the final boss Queen Ansurek and offer a very nice reward for doing so.  After killing Queen Ansurek and turning in the quest back in, you will receive:

  • Enchanted Runed Harbringer Crest
  • Void-Touched Valorstone (250 Valorstones)
  • 1404 Gold

Good job! You have now unlocked WoW’s first ever “Story Mode”  difficulty as well found this season’s quest to kill the final raid boss!
