Ubisoft’s answer to the Call of Duty and Battlefield series finally has a release date and XDefiant’s system requirements are pretty easy.

XDefiant is Ubisoft's answer to Call of Duty and after a lot of drama, it finally has a release date. The long-awaited shooter releases for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and Series S on May 21. Early signs look promising and the game offers some unique features.

But more importantly, we also know the system requirements for XDefiant and they're looking pretty good. It won't take a heavyweight computer to run this game and that's a great sign. It is, however, curious that Ubisoft isn't releasing the game on last-gen consoles.

XDefiant's Minimum System Requirements Explained

Interestingly, there's not that much of a difference between XDefiant's minimum system requirements and recommended requirements. According to Ubisoft, you won't need a stronger CPU than a Ryzen 5 1400 or an Intel Core i7 4790K.

Both these processors are several generations older than the latest ones and pretty much every modern computer has a stronger processor. Interestingly, the i7 4790K is significantly stronger and a bit newer than the Ryzen 5 1400. We'd reckon an AMD equivalent to that processor would be a Ryzen 7 2700x. Make of that what you will.

Additionally, you also won't need a better graphics card than an AMD RX 560 or an Nvidia GTX 1050ti. Both of these are budget graphics cards with just 4GB of VRAM. And while Ubisoft does state that you'll need just 8GB RAM, we do recommend you have at least 16GB RAM considering how much RAM regular Windows apps tend to use.

We'd recommend you take XDefiant's minimum system requirements as the absolute basic hardware you'd need to run the game.

The biggest change in the recommended requirements is the RAM and the Graphics Card you'd need. The processor required to run the game is more or less the same as the minimum requirements. They've upped the AMD processor to a Ryzen 5 1600, which is more or less the same CPU as the Ryzen 5 1400 in terms of gaming performance.

As for the Graphics Card, you'd need at least an AMD RX 580 Graphics Card which comes with 4GB and 8GB VRAM variants, or an Nvidia GTX 1060 which comes with 3GB and 6GB VRAM variants. For stability's sake, we'd recommend you have the higher-spec variants of these cards. Additionally, the 16GB RAM recommendation is better aligned with how Windows tends to work.

Either way, the system you'd require to meet XDefiant's recommended system requirements isn't some NASA rig either. Most modern computers have more than enough specs to run this game. To put it mildly, if you can run CS2, you can run this game.

We know most of you have a computer that should meet the system requirements for XDefiant. Have fun fragging your opponents when the game releases!
