Olivia Monroe apparently got banned on Twitch due to an oversight from Ubisoft.
Streamer and virtual YouTuber Olivia Monroe received the Twitch banhammer due to a supposed confusion on Ubisoft's side as their newest title, Assassin's Creed Shadows, releases.
Why did Olivia Monroe get banned?
Olivia Monroe is a virtual YouTuber who has over 45,000 followers on Twitch. She announced a partnered stream scheduled on March 18, 7AM Pacific for the release of AC Shadows.
After less than an hour of the sponsored gameplay, she was banned from the streaming platform. Ubisoft is widely considered as the reason for the ban, and all this is allegedly due to a mistake on their end.
Apparently, her requested stream time was approved by Ubisoft because they misread "7AM" as "7PM."

Naturally, this drew the ire of other streamers on the platform. After all, why does she get the brunt of the blow when Ubisoft was the one who made the mistake? The ban also didn't sit right, justifiably, with Olivia's fans.
It's understandable that the developer-publisher wanted all content for the game to be unveiled to the public at the same time. However, this whole situation tarnishes their reputation, especially in the VTubing space. Ubisoft has not issued a statement regarding this situation as of the time of writing, over 36 hours after the ban happened.
Luckily for Olivia Monroe, her ban did not last for long. She was unbanned on Twitch about five hours after the ban dropped. She's already back to streaming but hasn't played AC Shadows since the fiasco.
Assassin's Creed Shadows was released worldwide on March 20, 2025, to generally favorable reviews. It is the first entry in the long-running series to be set in Japan. AC Shadows features two protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe, and has multiple, optional romance options.
