You don’t want to lose progress.

Black Myth Wukong’s success has created one of China’s first successful AAA game launch. With masive investments into research and development, the game has found its place amongst gamers. While the initial wave of popularity lies largely in China, it is also quickly finding its way through the rest of the world. If you have picked up the game, you will realize it takes some time to defeat the bosses. And while you may have to quit the game you would want to save your progress. But there’s a twist.

How to Save in Black Myth Wukong?

Black Myth Wukong does not offer a manual save feature. Instead, the game will automatically save your progress at regular intervals. However, there are times when you would want the game to save your progress before you leave and return to the Desktop. And there is a way.

The solution lies in going to the nearest Keeper’s Shrines. The Keeper’s Shrines will save your progress when you interact with it. The first time you encounter a Shrine, you will pluck a hair and offer it to the shrine. While future interactions won’t have the same length of animation, it will follow through in a similar pattern.

Here’s how to save in Black Myth Wukong

  1. Interact with the Keeper’s Shrine.
  2. When you interact with the shrine, you will spot a lightning icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. This means the game is saving your progress.
  3. Do not quit the game during the saving progress as it could corrupt the file. This could result in losing valuable game progress and you might have to go through it all over again.

Besides the Keeper’s Shrine, the game also saves progress on several other occasions. Key boss fights are almost immediately followed by the same lightning save icon. This means the game is auto-saving the progress and you will not have to defeat the boss all over again.

Keeper’s Shrine are useful for various other cases other than just saving the game. They allow you to get rest and completely rejuvenate your Health and stamina. If you rest, then it will respawn all enemies, including the ones you might have defeated. Keeper’s Shrines also allow you to teleport to other shrines you have previously visited. So in case you think you can skip a boss and move ahead, you can always come back at a later point to ensure you move ahead in the game.

Keeper’s Shrines also act as shopkeeper’s allowing you to purchase or sell items. The Shrines are multi-purpose, and you should always keep a note of where the nearest Keeper’s Shrine is.
