All classic Call of Duty maps included in new Warzone 2 map

Call of Duty is leaning right into the nostalgia of Modern Warfare 2 with the release of the Warzone 2.0 map. Several classic maps are returning to the franchise for the launch of Warzone 2.

Al Mazrah is the new setting for Warzone, where 150 people will battle it out to get an elusive Warzone Victory.

Five classic Modern Warfare maps have been reimagined as part of the new Warzone experience. Infinity Ward have included them for players to explore as part of the new locale. It would also be a safe bet to assume that most, if not, all of these maps will eventually come to Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.

Quarry is originally a map in Brazil. Infinity Ward have lifted it out of the Amazon and dropped it down in Al Mazrah for the release of Warzone 2.

Verdasnk included a POI also named quarry. If anything, the map should have been included previously in the series.

Infinity Ward have included the map in the second edition of the game, with the intention of curating a nostalgic feel clear to players. Quarry is now part of that.

Players can find Quarry in the top left quadrant of the new Al Mazrah map, ready for exploring as soon as Warzone 2 drops.

Perhaps the most iconic map from the original Modern Warfare 2. Infinity Ward have reimagined one of their best creations as part of the new Al Mazrah Warzone 2 map.

Set at an airport terminal, with a plane to run through, this map evokes so many memories in almost every player who experienced it first time around.

Terminal is synonymous with the golden generation of Call of Duty games. It fell right in the time where Call of Duty was reaching its nostalgic peak.

Infinity Ward have included Terminal, renamed as Airport, as the Airport point of interest in Al Mazrah.

In the original Verdansk Warzone map, Downtown was one of the busiest and most hectic places to land. Modern Warfare 2 aims to replicate that feeling with the Al Mazrah City point of interest.

The perfect classic map to include in this cityscape is undoubtedly Highrise. A map set on top of a skyscraper fits like a glove in the mentality behind Al Mazrah city.

Highrise made its last appearance in a full release in Modern Warfare 2. If finally returns in Warzone 2. The map includes scaffolding on top of Highrise building. It will also no doubt be a location to find the new revamped helicopters in Warzone.

Dome returns for the first time since Modern Warfare 3 as part of the Al Mazrah Warzone map. The map is a huge fan-favourite, with many clamouring for its return since Modern Warfare 3.

The Observatory point of interest in Al Mazrah will undoubtedly be a chaotic drop in the new Warzone map. Its centralised position and the draw of the classic map will make it one of the favorite landing spots in the new map.

Memories of old content on Dome will incite that level of nostalgia that will drive players back to Warzone. FaZe Jev's interaction with flashbangs and Requis will live long in the memory of most.

A classic from the original Modern Warfare is coming to Warzone 2 in the form of Showdown.

Some slight changes are visible between the original map compared to the new version of Showdown. The biggest of those being the change in the statue in the middle of the area.

Avromat Kalashnikova has left the map. He's no longer wielding his AK-47 high above his head. Infinity Ward have replaced him with a statue of an unnamed character, perhaps someone who will be vital to Warzone 2's story.

Players can find the Showdown map as part of the Ahkdar Village point of interest in Al Mazrah.

Whilst not a POI in itself, Rust will be included just outside Taraq Village in Al Mazrah. One of the most iconic maps in Call of Duty history, Rust has been the final proving grounds for thousands of 1v1 matches in years gone by.

Twitter user and Twitch streamer ModernWarzone showed off the inclusion of the map in the Taraq Ground War map. It isn't the full version of Rust, with the surrounding buildings missing from inclusion. The main structure is all there though with the oxidized orange iron unmistakable.

Rust was first included in 2009's Modern Warfare 2. It has been a staple of the Call of Duty franchise since. It also features in Modern Warfare (2019) and in Call of Duty's mobile title.

There is very little to say about Shipment that hasn't already been said. One of the smallest maps in Call of Duty history but also one of the best and most played. Infinity Ward first included the map in the original Modern Warfare.

It has had plenty of different versions over the years. That includes a desert version in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Shipment also features in CoD Mobile and Modern Warfare (2019).

Shipment is on a boat for the first time with the new iteration. Infinity Ward included Shipment in the MW2 campaign but in that version the containers moved around the boat.

That won't be the case in the Warzone version with static containers all situated on the boat in the Port point of interest.

That's all the classic Call of Duty maps that are being remastered as part of the Warzone 2 experience in Al Mazrah. They only touch the surface of the points of interest that will be included in the new map.
