Atlanta FaZe defeat LA Thieves in the Grand Finals to win CDL Major 1 2025
CDL Major 1 saw 12 teams narrowed down to two across the weekend. Following an unexpected early exit by OpTic Texas, the Grand Finals saw Atlanta FaZe face off against their rivals, the Los Angeles Thieves. However, the two first squared up in the Winners Finals, which saw FaZe reverse-sweeping the Thieves to secure a spot in the Grand Finals.
The CDL Major 1 2025 Grand Finals was an incredible display of professional Call of Duty. Atlanta FaZe collapsed in the opening Hacienda Hardpoint, letting a 200-135 lead slip away. FaZe rallied back in games two and three, winning Red Card Search & Destroy 6-4 and Hacienda Control 3-2. The Thieves then took game four, Red Card Hardpoint, 250-229 to even up the series 2-2.
After a quick 6-1 victory against the Thieves in Vault Search & Destroy, FaZe needed one more game to win the tournament. The Thieves struck back, stunning FaZe in Protocol Control 3-1 to send the Grand Finals to a decisive game seven.
