We finally have a location for CDL Major IV and details about Challenger LANs.

After a couple of months of mystery, the location of CDL Major IV has finally been revealed. For the first time in the CDL era, a Major event is being held at DreamHack. Major IV will take place at DreamHack Dallas at the end of May 2025 following online qualifiers from May 2-18.

DreamHack events have long been lauded for the way they're run, the fan attendance and interaction, and the competition at every location. DreamHack Dallas has been run for years and the location is certainly at the heart of the CDL, as most of the teams in the league are based somewhere in Texas.

Below, you can see more details about CDL Major IV and some other information regarding the Challengers scene.

In 2025, DreamHack Dallas will take place from May 23-25 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. It's unclear exactly how the CDL Major will fit into the plans of DreamHack, but fans can rest assured that there will be plenty of seating capacity and the same level of production as previous Major events.

In one calendar year, the CDL is traveling to Texas a total of three times for events. Major II in March 2025 is also taking place in Dallas, where OpTic Texas will play host at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center. This location also hosted CDL Champs in the summer of 2024, where OpTic Texas won its first ring of the CDL era.

This is the final Major of the 2025 CDL season, as CDL Champs will follow it sometime over the summer, most likely near the end of June. Then, Call of Duty has been confirmed for the 2025 EWC event in Saudia Arabia once again, which is happening in August.

Tickets to DreamHack Dallas are now on sale on the event's website, which will get you into Major IV. You can only buy tickets for the entirety of the three-day event, so you can't solely buy a ticket to championship Sunday.

In addition to the news about Major IV at DreamHack Dallas, the CDL also announced that the Challengers circuit will have a total of four LAN events this season. Three are being held at Majors and the final one is at CDL Champs.

The Challengers scene has been up in arms about the possibility of only having one or two LAN events in 2025 after it was announced OpTic Texas wouldn't be able to throw one at Major II. However, it appears the CDL has stepped in and taken measures to ensure the Challengers scene gets proper representation throughout the season.

Here are the Challengers LAN events dates and prize pools for the 2025 season:

  • OpTic Texas Major II - $100,000
  • Miami Heretics Major III - $100,000
  • DreamHack Dallas Major IV - $100,000
  • Challenger Finals - $100,000

The CDL also stated that the top three teams at the Challenger Finals and the winner of DreamHack Dallas will automatically qualify for the Esports World Cup later in 2025.
