Calling for a Fair Catch is an easy way to avoid getting decimated by the oncoming team during a punt in College Football 25.

There isn't always an opportunity to run the ball back after a kickoff or punt. Thankfully, you can call a Fair Catch in College Football 25 in order to play the ball from wherever you catch it. It's a simple strategy, but very effective.

Let's go over how to do it and when you can.

How to call for a Fair Catch in College Football 25

If you go to the controls section of the settings in College Football 25, it doesn't actually tell you how to do a Fair Catch. Fans of Madden or the former NCAA series will know the button to press, though.

First, you'll want to press Circle (PS5) or B (Xbox) to control the returner. Then when you want to call for a Fair Catch, you will hold Triangle (PS5) or Y (Xbox). It is important that you hold it, as tapping it does not trigger the mechanic.

You can call for a Fair Catch in College Football 25 whenever the ball is kicked off to you. This happens at the start of each half, after a team scores, or when a team punts the ball away. The latter typically happens on 4th Down.

Hold the previously mentioned button and your returner will wave their hand in the air to call for the Fair Catch. Do this in the endzone and it will count as a touchback. Do it in the field of play and your team begins the offensive drive from there. Just make sure you actually catch it for it to count.
