MAAC partners with eFuse to bring the Fall Season Esports Competition. Eleven member schools will be able to compete in three titles: Super Smash Bros., Rocket League and Valorant.
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced the return of its esports competition in the Fall Season including teasers of the upcoming Spring Season. For the Fall Season, MAAC brings three esports titles for 11 member schools to compete in: Super Smash Bros., Rocket League and Valorant. In this season, they have also partnered with a new tournament organizer and management partner, eFuse. eFuse is a huge entity in the collegiate esports ecosystem after acquisitions of the College CoD League and College Carball Association.

MAAC Fall Season Esports Competition
The Fall Season begins on October 4th and lasts until December 9th. While Super Smash Bros. and Rocket League have been in MAAC esports for three years, the MAAC schools will see a new title in the pool, Valorant.
The esports competition involves 11 member schools which include: Canisius College, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University and Siena College.
The schedule for the Fall Season MAAC Esports Competition is as follows:
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Tuesday nights
- Rocket League: Wednesday nights
- Valorant: Friday nights
Schools are free to compete between the matchup window of 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM ET, but the default start time is at 7:00 PM ET.
The esports competition format follows a round-robin style in which each team will play a new school each week. There will also be a 'makeup week' in the schedule to provide room for rescheduled matches. The competition will be operated through eFuse's eRena platform, which has hosted tons of scholastic events, high-profile influencers, content creators and brands.

When does the MAAC Spring Season Esports competition start?
After the Fall Season ends in early December, the Spring Season begins in mid-January. The esports competition in Spring will feature a slightly different set of games; Overwatch, League of Legends, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
