Following a poor 2025 so far, FaZe Clan has decided to bench one of their players, as broky takes a seat after BLAST Rivals Spring 2025.
BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 has only recently concluded, but FaZe Clan has already made a huge roster decision. Announced on May 5, FaZe confirmed that Helvijs "broky" Saukants would be benched from the starting roster.
This means the Latvian AWPer, unless loaned to another team, will miss out on the Austin Major and IEM Dallas events taking place over the coming month and a half.

Broky benched after five-year tenure at FaZe
Posted on the FaZe Esports X/Twitter account a short time ago, the organization announced that broky has been "benched from the starting roster." The statement continued, adding that “he remains with FaZe as we explore our options moving forward.”
With 2025 not going the way of FaZe, the decision still comes as a surprise, with broky being the second strongest member of the team following their exit from BLAST Rivals Spring in fifth/sixth place. Broky managed to keep a positive kill/death (KD) ratio through the 6 maps played by his team during the event.
While Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski joined the team in January 2025, not much has changed for FaZe in their tournaments. Their best showing has been at PGL Bucharest, with a third-place finish.
With the BLAST Austin Major 2025 less than a month away, FaZe will need to find a replacement. Although broky is benched, he is still a part of the roster. But, it seems highly unlikely that they will re-add him to the starting lineup for the upcoming event. That said, no further information has currently been given as to who is in their sights as a replacement. While many have speculated already, nothing has been set in stone.
Relating to this, the final cutoff date for rosters attending the Major is May 5, according to the rulebook. This means that we should not have to wait too long to learn of Faze's newest addition.
Unfortunately for broky, his long history with FaZe comes to an end for now. Whether or not he will play for the team again remains to be seen.
Update, May 5 @ 7:26am EDT: FaZe has shockingly announced s1mple as broky's replacement for the interim, with the Ukrainian AWPer taking the reins for at least IEM Dallas and the Austin Major.
