MOUZ and FURIA went head-to-head in the quarterfinal at IEM Cologne 2025, with elimination on the cards for the losing team.

MOUZ and FURIA have only met once in 2025, but IEM Cologne 2025 would be a fight against elimination. It was MOUZ that took a 2-1 victory at the ESL Pro League Season 21 earlier in the year. MOUZ were almost the winners of Group B, but Team Spirit managed to put a stop to that. For FURIA, their path to the playoffs was a bit tougher. Having lost to G2 Esports in the first round of the Group Stage, they made a fantastic lower bracket run. The South American organization took down G2 later in the lower bracket to reach the playoffs.

It was a tight first game of the series, with neither team wanting to give up the early lead. Starting with a 7-5 to MOUZ at the switch, FURIA fought back to tie it all up and take it into overtime. It took 4 rounds of overtime to settle it, but MOUZ emerged with the win. An immense performance Ádám 'torzsi' Torzsás pushed the team over the line, as they took one step closer to the top 4 of the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2025.

FURIA required a fantastic Mirage to take things to a third map and keep their hopes alive at IEM Cologne 2025. Although losing the first half 7-5 once again, they began their fight back much like on map 1. This time it was Kaike 'KSCERATO' Cerato leading the kills, taking them ahead and to double digits before MOUZ. However, the fight back came from MOUZ again, as they tied the teams at 10-10. With pressure building, someone needed to step up, as MOUZ and FURIA looked to move forward at the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2025.

Three straight games and the crowd’s cheers pushed FURIA over the line as they took things to a decisive third map.

Inferno settles the score

One final map would be needed between MOUZ and FURIA at IEM Cologne 2025. Inferno would be these two teams’ last chance to move forward. It was, for a third time, MOUZ that took a 7-5 first half, before FURIA began to fight back. As the game got even closer, both teams pushed things to their limit.

Even with their backs against the wall, the resilience of MOUZ came up clutch. In a very close series, MOUZ managed to take down FURIA at IEM Cologne with a 13-11 Inferno win. With the game constantly swinging in the balance, the 2-1 victory of MOUZ sends them through to the semi-finals, where they face Team Vitality.
