Team Spirit win BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 over Natus Vincere

Although the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 was pretty entertaining and British fans wanted more, the tournament concluded on June 16 following the clash between NAVI and Spirit.

They were undoubtedly the two best teams of the $425,000 tournament, but only one could have prevailed. It was Spirit who took home $200,000 in prize pool and secured a spot in the $1 million BLAST Premier World Final in November.

Their tournament was pretty similar as they both qualified directly to the semifinals after the group stage, however, they came across different opponents in the event.

Spirit strolled past NAVI at the start of Ancient as everything was clicking for their T-side despite NAVI's best efforts on the defense.

Donk and co. secured a big 10-2 advantage for the second half and even though NAVI nearly made the comeback in the end, they messed up in a round in which Spirit had pistols and conceded match point. Spirit didn't throw away the opportunity and comfortably closed the map 13-9. Sh1ro, donk, and magixx all grabbed over 15 kills each, while only iM did the same for NAVI.

Although Spirit started their CT-side strong, it looked like NAVI would take control of Dust 2 after an impressive ace clutch by Aleksib that got everyone in the team hyped up.

That did, in fact, happen as NAVI won four other rounds and salvaged their T-side. However, Spirit came up with a stronger T-side themselves and didn't let NAVI win much momentum or set up a healthy economy.

The round that decided the series in favor of Spirit was a risky late hit onto the A bombsite, in which everything was against them, but they still made it work. After Spirit won this round, they never look back and closed Dust 2 with ease.

NAVI found themselves with their backs against the wall coming to Mirage, but they didn't give up whatsoever. Instead, the PGL Copenhagen Major winners played with a totally different attitude and dominated Spirit to win their first map in the grand finals.

This attitude was highlighted by nobody other than Aleksib during the match as the broadcast showed him telling the team he'd rather lose with them over peeking than playing cowardly.

There was nothing Spirit could do in the match as NAVI dominated on both sides of Mirage. The last nail in Spirit's coffin was a fine A bombsite hit that broke their CT-side economy for the final round of the series. The win also broke Aleksib's bad streak in best-of-five grand finals, as he had lost all last five by 3-0.

Though NAVI had battered Spirit on Mirage, the Russians joined Nuke very motivated. They were a cohesive unit in both the T-side and CT-side, and perhaps most importantly, donk really came through. NAVI had managed to keep Spirit's superstar somewhat humble in the other maps, but they couldn't hold him off on Nuke.

Donk and zont1x got 19 and 20 frags, respectively, in only 19 rounds played, and carried Spirit to win Nuke and the BLAST Premier Spring Final. Just when NAVI had finally won a round on their CT-side, the Spirit duo cracked the A bombsite wide open to break NAVI's economy and make it easier for Spirit to clinch the map.
