Permanently banned coach Ivan “F_1N” Kochugov, amongst others, were spotted in the team’s match area.

Shanghai Major organizers, Perfect World, have announced that PARIVISION has been disqualified from the Europe RMR. The announcement came after a number of members of the team's staff were spotted in the team's match area.

PARIVISION Disqualified - Guilty on two counts

PARIVISION's disqualification comes over violations of two different Valve rulings simultaneously. Primary among them is the team's violation of Valve's Stage Integrity rules.

"In the case of any matches where event admins are not physically present (e.g. online matches), no team staff, including the coach, may be physically or virtually present or communicate with the players at any time during the match."

Valve Major Supplemental Rulebook

Valve brought in that rule following the coach bug bans of 2020, aiming to limit the involvement of coaching staff, at least in the RMRs held online. Since then, they have applied the rule to RMR qualifiers too. With no player cams required for the qualifier, officials had no way to note PARIVISION's infringement. Unfortunately for the team, they released a video recorded from the boot camp showing the staff's presence in the room, thus implicating themselves.

Consequently, it was also brought to the organizer's attention that a coach banned in the coach bug report, Ivan "F_1N" Kochugov, was involved with the team.

Who is F_1N?

F_1N is a Russian coach working with PARIVISION. The coach was previously instrumental in the scouting and development of the Gambit Youngsters roster. While that team went on to win IEM Katowice, their coach F_1N was implicated in the ESIC coach bug report.

F_1N, in fact, was one of the first people to come forward to admit his use of the coaching bug in a twit longer statement. In the statement, he admitted to a single instance of the bug. But that was quickly disproven when ESIC's full findings were released. According to the report, F_1N had used the bug in 40 rounds across 6 matches. This resulted in an 8.75-month ban from ESIC events. Valve later followed up with a permanent ban for F_1N from all Valve events.

Who'll replace PARIVISION at the EU RMR?

In the same announcement, Perfect World outlined the method that will be employed to replace PARIVISION at the EU RMR. All 2-3 teams will be invited to a small bracket to determine the final RMR spot. That includes BLEED, Monte, and KOI. Due to BLEED's Buchholz score, they will face the winner of Monte vs KOI to decide the ticket to Shanghai.
