NertZ would greatly enhance Team Liquid’s firepower.

Guy "NertZ" Iluz is close to leaving HEROIC to join Team Liquid for the 2025 CS2 season.

NertZ and Team Liquid already reached an agreement, so the transfer should be announced in the coming days.

All this information comes from a report by journalist Alejandro "anonimotum" Gomis from Sheep Esports on Saturday, Dec. 28.

With NertZ, Team Liquid would considerably increase the firepower of its CS2 lineup, as the Israeli is one of the best riflers in the world. NertZ would come in to replace Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, who was benched on Dec. 27 and struggled individually for most of 2024.

Besides, adding NertZ will allow Team Liquid to qualify for the next Major as an Asian team as long as the Australian star Justin "jks" Savage stays. It would be far easier to qualify for the Major as an Asian team than an American team.

NertZ has been with HEROIC since December 2023, when the organization acquired him and the head coach Eetu "sAw" Saha from ENCE.

He averaged a 1.14 rating across 209 maps played in 2024, according to HLTV.org, and was by far HEROIC's best player. YEKINDAR, the player NertZ will replace on Team Liquid, averaged a 1.02 rating this year.

NertZ's numbers look even more impressive, considering HEROIC struggled significantly for many months in 2024.

While the swap of YEKINDAR for NertZ looks like a no-brainer, Team Liquid will likely need to make some tactical adjustments as NertZ isn't as aggressive as YEKINDAR.

As for HEROIC, losing NertZ is a massive blow heading to 2025. The international team started to improve in the final months of 2024 after fully integrating Abdulkhalik "degster" Gasanov into the lineup only to lose its best player during the CS2 off-season.
