Sources say that IEM Fall will be held in Stockholm. This also makes the Stockholm Major highly likely as the two events are set only a few weeks apart.
Update (September 7): ESL has confirmed to esports.gg that IEM Fall Europe will take place in Stockholm.
IEM Fall is the final RMR event of the 2021 Major cycle that will conclude with the PGL Major. Valve said the European division of the event was going to be a LAN event with 24 teams in its August announcement. What was missing from the event details was the location for the studio event, likely due to the uncertainty surrounding the location of the PGL Major.
Sources told esports.gg that the IEM Fall RMR Europe will take place in Stockholm, Sweden. Stockholm was the original location for the PGL Major when it was announced in January of this year. It has been one of the two locations in discussion for the Major alongside Romania. With IEM Fall in Stockholm, it looks highly likely that the Major will also take place in Stockholm. The two event dates are only a few weeks apart. IEM Fall EU ends on October 10 and the CS: GO Major kicks off on October 23.
The final confirmation for the location of both events will likely come around September 16 which is the date PGL has set for their final decision and the start of ticket sales. This will also be Sweden's first major since 2014 and the 3rd overall for the legendary Counter-Strike nation.
