XG trolled on Team Falcons’ “gg ez” in Elite League grand finals

Here’s why XG trolled Team Falcons.

Xtreme Gaming (XG) took down the undefeated Team Falcons in Elite League on April 14 and all-chatted "?" after the grand finals. Only two days ago, Team Falcons sent XG to the lower bracket and trolled them with "gg ez," which made the situation spicier.

Xtreme Gaming faced Team Falcons in the grand finals

After an almost two-week marathon, the biggest Dota 2 online event of the year, the Elite League, came to an end on April 14. XG defeated Azure Ray with a score of 2-0 in the lower bracket finals, setting up a rematch in the grand finals against Team Falcons, who defeated them 2-0 just two days ago.

Before the finals, everyone thought that Team Falcons would win easily. One reason for this was that XG had just lost to them two days before, and another was that Team Falcons were currently on a winning streak, having won two major tournaments in a row with a 3-0 record. But XG took down the final boss and won their first major championship after they reformed their roster.

The grand finals were exciting with ups and downs. XG drafted an early-tempo combo, but failed to snowball it in game one, giving the chance for Team Falcons to expand on advantages. It just looked like the script written down before where Team Falcons took game one quite easily. But XG made it a comeback in game two and game three. They perfectly countered Team Falcons’ favorite heroes such as Crystal Maiden plus Gyrocopter and won the match point with a score of 2-1 against Team Falcons.

Game four was quite intense as both teams were catching up to each others’ net worth growth. Team Falcons had a poor start with Faceless Void, and XG owned a small advantage. But all advantages turned into nothing after they failed to push the high ground with the aegis. Surprisingly, Faceless Void made some mistakes that made the situation worse for Team Falcons. He jumped into XG and was killed by their carry Chaos Knight, used the Chrono without Black King Bar, and was sent away by the disruptor after his buyback. XG won the grand finals against Team Falcons with a score of 3-1.

Right after "gg" was called by Team Falcons, a dramatic scene occurred. XG paused the game and everyone spammed "?" and "ez" in all chat.

"Tip me clowns" — Why XG trolled Team Falcons

Why did this happen? It could be traced back to the upper bracket semifinals on April 12, which also featured XG versus Team Falcons. They took down XG in two games, sending them to the lower bracket. ATF then trolled them by typing "'tip me clowns" and "gg ez" in the chat after the game.

And in game four of the grand finals, Marl1ne typed "?" into the chat after winning a team fight in the middle of the game. Maybe this was also a reason XG trolled them after the finals.

ATF's history of banter with Chinese teams

This was not the first time ATF met this situation. Another classic scene happened in 2022 during the Arlington Major where OG was defeated by Team Aster. Their position five 皮球 (PiQiu) called ATF as ATM. At that time, ATF blamed Aster's carry Monet in pubs just a few days ago.

And here is a fun fact: Xxs was a member of Aster when the "ATM" drama happened. He is also a part of the second episode since he is in XG now.

ATF also changed his Steam name after the drama happened.
