Three stars of the CIS region officially go inactive from competitive Dota 2.
More post-TI roster news is here as the three core players of BetBoom Team announce their hiatus. Notable CIS stars - Nightfall (also known as Saika), gpk, and TORONTOTOKYO, are officially inactive from the Dota 2 professional scene following the conclusion of The International 2024 (TI13).
Nightfall, gpk, and TORONTOTOKYO join the pool of inactive players
The Dota 2 off-season this year spiraled quickly with not only roster shuffles but also big names announcing their hiatus from the Dota 2 competitive scene. The three core players of BetBoom Team are among the recent ones to do so.
- Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko
- Danil "gpk" Skutin
- Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek
These names all held glorious reputations in their respective roles. Nightfall was among the best carry players in the world, gpk was a prominent midlaner, and TORONTOTOKYO - aside from being a TI champion - impressed the community with his successful switch from the midlane to captaincy.
It is also a surprise to see particularly the two players take a step back from Dota 2 at such a young age: Nightfall at 22 and gpk at 23. A lot of people assume that many Dota 2 pros are facing burnout due to the saturated schedule in the Dota 2 competitive scene this year. There were indeed many back-to-back Dota 2 tournaments that saw little to no breaks in between.

Before BetBoom announced their players going inactive, two other CIS stars also took the same route. Two-time The International champions, Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk and Myroslav "Mira" Kolpakov, officially went inactive, leaving empty slots in the legendary Team Spirit roster.
