$1,000,000, 10 teams, one winner ā BLAST Slam has arrived.
Esports tournament organizer BLAST has entered Dota 2, unveiling plans for a full circuit with massive prize pools and huge stage setups similar to what we've seen in Counter-Strike 2. The circuit won't be opening next year, however; the TO is kicking off affairs early in 2024 with BLAST Slam Copenhagen.
Here's everything you need to know about the million-dollar BLAST Slam Dota 2 tournament, the first in the BLAST series!
BLAST Slam 2024 Dota 2 format and teams
BLAST Slam 2024 kicks off on Nov. 26 and is a 10-team tournament with participants split into two groups of five. There, they'll play out a "King of the Hill" best-of-one round-robin series.
No teams are eliminated in the group stage, with their ranking sorting them into a gauntlet-style single-elimination bracket:
- The top team in each group will start in the semifinals
- Second place begins the playoff run in the quarterfinals
- Third place begins in playoffs round two
- Fourth and fifth begin in playoffs round one
All playoff matches are best-of-three, with the grand final a best-of-five.
These are the teams participating in the BLAST Slam 2024 event:
