The insanely hyped Crownfall patch is finally here! Valve releases the massive update today in mid-April  to bring an entire story event revolved around the Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit lore. Here is every new item you can purchase in the Dota 2 Crownfall event including Arcanas, treasures, and other rewards.






Skywrath Mage Arcana: The Devotions of Dragonus - Crownfall event



The Skywrath Mage Arcana in Crownfall comes in two styles. The first is called "Servants of Scree'Auk" which is the default version. The second style is called "Sovereigns of Skywrath" which you can unlock only after you complete the Main Quest in Act IV.

Vengeful Spirit arcana: The Resurrection of Shen - Crownfall event



The Arcanas for Vengeful Spirit on the other hand comes in three styles. The default style is called "Sovereigns of Skywrath". The second version which can only be obtained after completing the Main Quest in Act IV is called "Servants of Scree'Auk". The third style, "Queen Imperia" can only be unlocked after completing all Main Quests and Side Quests in all four of Crownfall Acts.

Valve released the highly anticipated Crownfall update today, rallying the Dota 2 community to celebrate a free-to-play game event. But the biggest highlights of Crownfall has to be the launch of Arcanas for Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit. The Arcanas are unique and mesmerizing as usual, but what makes it more exciting, is that it comes with bonus styles that you can unlock. How to unlock bonus Arcana style for Skywrath Mage



The Skywrath Mage Arcana has the dark default style that you can purchase for $34.99. But there is a bonus style that colors Skywrath Mage in his natural golden glow and you can unlock this style without no additional cost.







To unlock Skywrath Mage's bonus Arcana style, you must complete the Main Quest in Act IV. We are currently in the midst of Act I and as the event unfolds, we will get to the final phase of the event, Act IV. Complete the Main Quest from Start to Finish in Act IV and you will unlock the bonus Skywrath Mage Arcana style - "Sovereigns of Skywrath."






How to unlock bonus Arcana style for Vengeful Spirit



While Skywrath Mage has an additional Arcana style, Vengeful Spirit has two! The default Arcana style for Vengeful Spirit goes for $34.99 which sees the originally gloomy hero in a new, bright, golden glow. Its second style "Servants of Scree'Auk" portrays the hero in her more natural form with a purplish ambiance. To unlock the bonus Arcana style for Vengeful Spirit, you must complete the Main Quest in Act IV.

Stuck with your Crownfall progression? Can't get the tokens you want for the life of you? You are not alone! Which is why we have prepared some tips for you on how to collect tokens efficiently to complete Act I of Crownfall as fast as possible.



Tips for fast and easy Crownfall token collection



1) Play Turbo Mode







Unfortunately, a lot of the ways that make Crownfall token collection easy comes later in the Overworld Map. So you still need to tough it out for the first few steps of the map. At least until you get to the Token Trader, which is the fifth stop of The Road to Midgate. This leads to our first tip: Play Turbo Mode.



While Turbo Mode is not the most glamorous and exciting way to play Dota, it always helps with completing challenges such as this one. Turbo Mode average around 20-30 minutes of gameplay, allowing for a faster grind. With Turbo Mode, however, you can only get two out of the three tokens that each hero provides at random if you win and nothing if you lose. In normal games, you get all three tokens for winning and one at random if you lose. The pros and cons are pretty distinct. Nonetheless, Turbo Mode still serves its purpose well in helping you collect Crownfall tokens as quickly as possible.



2) Diversify your Crownfall token inventory

As you play through Crownfall, you'll notice that the required tokens to progress forward become more specific. In the example above, you need Durable and Healer tokens to unlock the next stop. Clicking it shows that the heroes that offer both tokens are Necrophos and Omniknight. In this case, since you do not have either token, the best course of action is to in fact play the recommended hero. However, if you have one of the them, then it is better to play another hero that provides other tokens. The key is to check your inventory and collect missing tokens that you might need in the

MMR Double Down is back in Dota 2, and the infamous mechanic is now available to every player for free. While it seems simple at first, the system can be incredibly rewarding or punishing. 



It’s also suspiciously easy to use them on accident, but depending on your strategy, that could be a good thing. Here’s everything you should know about MMR Double Downs, from how they work to the best strategies for using them.



MMR Double Down returns



MMR Double Down is a returning Dota 2 mechanic where players double the amount of MMR gained or lost from a ranked match. Players activate tokens by opening the menu at the start of the game and confirming their selection. There is no limit to how many players can double down their MMR change in a single game. There’s no cooldown or time limit for them either. The only limiting factor is the amount players own, and more can be unlocked or purchased as Crownfall goes on.



Valve appears to have played a little practical joke with the Double Down system this time. The developer replaced the Dota Plus prediction UI with the Double Down feature, so if you click the same buttons in the same order, you raise the stakes. Try to control your muscle memory at the start of every match, unless you opt for our second recommended strategy.

The best way to use your MMR Double Down tokens 



Considering the stats behind the system, there are two valid ways of using Double Down tokens to stack up your MMR.



The first and safer option is to use them strategically. Players submit their token at the start of the game after the draft, which can already give you a decent idea of how the game will go. You can also check your teammates to help decide. If you have a mid Undying and a pre-muted offlane, there’s no need to commit. The same is true if you're playing an off role for Role Queue tokens. Just be patient and cash them in when you’re confident of a

ESL One Birmingham kicks off the group stage today, featuring six two-game series in each group. In the second round of Group A, BetBoom Team was caught using an in-game bug. The team's Shadow Demon, played by Save-, upgraded his level three ultimate skill at only level 12, and successfully won a team fight against G2.iG.







Following reports of the bug, ESL Dota 2 announced an official response and update. After game one ended, BetBoom Team was penalized with a Level two Draft Penalty in the next game. "Due to abuse of a bug BetBoom Team will be receiving a Level 2 Draft Penalty for their next game against G2 x IG.," ESL posted.

How did they abuse the bug?



Lets first take a look at Shadow Demon's abilities. The Demonic Cleanse is an ability that can only be claimed by getting the Aghanim's Shard. After getting this ability, both Demonic Cleanse and its ultimate skill, Demonic Purge, can be leveled up at the same time. That means, the hero can get a level three Demonic Cleanse and Demonic Purge at level 18.



But after Valve released some bug fixes around two days ago, you can now level up the Demonic Cleanse as a normal skill. Since both skills are linked abilities, Shadow Demon can acquire the level three ultimate skill right after it gets the Aghanim's Shard. In this game, Save- obtained his Shard at level 10, and used the next two skill points to upgrade both skills. Despite using the Shadow Demon bug, BetBoom Team eventually lost the game to G2.iG.

In a game full of playable fish and characters confirmed to eat them, the new game mode features Vengeful Spirit of all heroes tossing out lines. However, the minigame isn't just for show. Players can earn up to ten random tokens, which will go a long way toward unlocking all the fancy rewards in The Markets of Midgate.

The new fishing minigame is part of The Markets of Midgate on the ninth mandatory node of the map. The side event featured Tidehunter teaching Vengeful Spirit how to fish. The lore of the fishing minigame is that Venge must give a local merchant a fish to prove that she will stand up for the oppressed Flightless underclass. Don't ask questions, that's just how it goes.



The minigame is pretty typical for a video game fishing side activity. Players chuck out a line, react to the sinker going under, and then finesse a bar to reel it in. However, there are a couple of tips that can help you reach the 10,000 mark.




Prioritize fish size above all else



Sparking fish are variants that will grant bonus points, but the larger fish are still the better targets



Fish swim around at varying speeds, so wait for your target to slow down before sending out the line

The Candyworks minigame has returned for Crownfall, and once again offers free Arcanas of your favorite heroes. Here's everything you need to know about it and how to get your hands on those free Arcanas.



How to access Candyworks Caravan in Crownfall







First released in the 2022 Battle Pass, the Candyworks is a much welcomed addition to Dota. Various kinds of in-game goodies such as treasure sets, Immortal gears and Arcanas are obtainable through a fun minigame. Now, it's back in the current Crownfall patch and dubbed as the Crownfall Candyworks Caravan—a similar but slightly simpler version of its predecessor.



To unlock the Candyworks Caravan and start obtaining free Arcanas, you need to play the first Act of Crownfall. By playing Dota games and collecting the necessary tokens, you can open the path toward the Candyworks Caravan. As the required tokens are random for each player, you need a little luck to get there. Needless to say, winning your games ensures the quickest route to the Caravan. For more details on understanding how the Crownfall event works, refer to our guide below.

Just like the previous Candyworks, you can get Arcanas and all kinds of other treasures for free by trading in various types of candies. However, the Crownfall Candyworks is slightly different than that of the 2022 Battle Pass. For instance, instead of leveling up your Battle Pass to get Candy Sacks, you simply need to progress through the Crownfall Overworld Map by winning your Dota games. However, there are only two items displayed this time instead of three, making it more difficult for Arcanas to appear. Otherwise, everything else remains the same.

Mid-April is finally here! It means Valve just released the Dota 2 Crownfall event, including two brand-new Arcanas. One for Vengeful Spirit, and the other for Skywrath Mage. The update features a new comic for the lore enthusiasts, explaining why these two heroes are the chosen ones.



There is also a new quest mode that you can play right now with the most recent update. In resume, you have to play the indicated heroes to earn tokens that will unlock pieces of the story. You will earn treasures, store coins, candies, and more. Keep reading to find out what you get and how to progress!






The Overworld Map for the Dota 2 Crownfall event



On the in-game main screen, you'll find a button leading to the first act of the story. Click it to enter the Overlord map, which should look like this:

The paths are randomized between players to prevent multiple accounts from queuing at the same time with similar token requirements. On this screen, you will find all the information you need to start progressing. To start playing, check what's the first token you will need. For this example, the "running" token will allow us to get our first rewards.

How do I get the tokens?



As simple as it sounds: Play the hero required on each category to earn tokens. Even though every hero could grant multiple tokens for different categories, some of them will give twice the amount of the same category.

Every hero has a set of three tokens. (For example, in Act I, Axe has Running, Durable and Initiator tokens.)





If you win a match with that hero, you'll earn one of each token. If you lose, you'll get one of the three tokens randomly. Turbo matches grand two tokens for a win and none for a loss.

The Crownfall Patch has finally arrived! As the Dota 2 community rejoices in the update, there's a ton of new content to unpack. There's of course the brand new treasures and the two new arcanas. But, also coming in the update is a brand new story, and a completely new adventure game for Dota 2 players to embark upon. So without further ado, let's dive into the Crownfall update. 



Reclaiming the Throne 



The first part of the Crownfall update is the story of the whole update. The Ascension Day comic was released early today, which introduces us to the Crownfall storyline. In short, Shendelzare (AKA Vengeful Spirit) had her throne usurped by her sister Imperia. But now with the help of the god Scree'Auk, Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit plan to take the throne back and get their revenge. You can read the full comic here.

Included in the Crownfall update is an adventure that continues the story of Ascension Day. Players will need to guide the newly empowered Vengeful Spirit and Skywrath Mage through the streets of Skywrath to take back the throne. Compared to previous Battle Passes with a branching path for one of three sets, this map has significantly more rewards, minigames and side quests! However, the best part is that players can earn shop coins, which if a player has enough can provide a discount on anything in the Crownfall Store.

Also making their debut in the Crownfall update are two brand new treasures. Both Crownfall Treasure 1 and Crownfall Treasure 2 contain 25 unique items for players to collect throughout the event. The Crownfall Update is out - Reclaiming the Throne, the Treasures and more!

The Dota 2 lore-centric event, Crownfall, bombards the Dota 2 community with tons of cosmetics and rewards. The event is divided into four Acts in which each Act will bring a fresh set of quests and rewards on an entirely new map. We are currently in Act I as the event has just kickstarted. But when exactly is the Crownfall end date?






When does the Crownfall event end?



The Crownfall event end date is not yet announced. However, we have a rough timeframe of how long the event lasts. On the official Crownfall website, Valve states that the Crownfall event will go on over the next few months. 



The Markets of Midgate is just the first act of an ongoing four-act narrative that will span the next few months.Valve on Crownfall's website.



If a single Act takes place across a month, the entire event will likely finish after four months. We speculate that the Crownfall end date falls on late August. This duration also aligns with the calendar if Valve is to launch a new event or the Compendium right before The International 2024. The prestigious TI is scheduled to kickstart early September in Copenhagen, Denmark.

<p>The International 2023 or TI12 marks the culmination of the year, where we crown the annual Dota 2 world champion. Read more to see the 2023 DPC ranking and find out which teams are going to compete at TI12.</p>



<p>To qualify for this prestigious tournament, teams will have to consistently accumulate DPC points throughout the year. So where do teams collect DPC points? In 2023, there are three Tours. Each Tour hosts Regional Leagues in six different regions and a LAN Dota 2 Major which all offer hefty DPC points. The earlier tournaments offer lesser DPC points and they gradually increase over the year. </p>



<p>The top 12 teams with the highest DPC points by the end of the season earn a direct invite to TI12. Eight more teams will qualify from the Regional Qualifiers - two slots for WEU and SA, and one slot for CN, SEA, EEU, and NA.</p>

All teams qualified for The International 2023 (TI12)

<p>Smells like pure dominance! As Team Liquid advances to the top four at the ESL One Berlin Major, the team simultaneously secures a slot in The International 2023 (TI12). Team Liquid is the first organization to have a confirmed direct invite to TI12.</p>

<h2 id="h-a-massive-glow-up">A massive glow up</h2>



<p>In 2022, Team Liquid failed to get a direct invite to TI11. Not only did they collect insufficient DPC points, they also failed in the Western Europe qualifier. In a final attempt, Team Liquid went through the slippery slopes of the Last Chance Qualifier and secured the twentieth and last slot at TI12. </p>

<p>But in this 2023 DPC season, Team Liquid is the first team to qualify for TI12. An immense contrast to the previous year. After parting ways with the retired Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen, Liquid is joined by the Polish star player, Michał "Nisha" Jankowski who formerly played with their European counterpart, Team Secret. Together, they delivered an incredible run - finishing first in Tour 1 and Tour 2 WEU DPC, and a second-place finish at the Lima Major.  With these achievements and their incoming DPC points for Berlin Major, Team Liquid secures the TI12 direct invite.</p>



<h2 id="h-road-to-ti12">Road to TI12 </h2>



<p>Team Liquid can take a breather despite one more Tour coming ahead. Eleven more slots are to be filled and it seems like the next closest team to grab one is Gaimin Gladiators, the Lima Major champions. </p>
