Valve has just announced a new mega kill pack featuring Portal’s very own Cave Johnson. Join us as we break down the announcement.

The TI11 Finals announcements continue as a new announcer pack is coming to Dota 2. The announcement came in a comedic skit that involved Slacks, Kaci and the "G-man," Gabe Newell, himself. Gaben has seemingly called in a favor as the rumoured Slacks and Kaci announcer pack couldn't be saved from.

The Cave Johnson Mega Kills pack comes as a Battle Pass reward, in Part II, at level 75. It is set to release later in the year, post-TI11.

Who is Cave Johnson?

If you haven't had time to grace the Portal game series, you might not know who Cave Johnson is. The founder of Aperture Science, Cave Johnson is a entrepreneur of many talents who created the location in which the Portal games take place.

Cave Johnson's role is being reprised by the legendary J.K. Simmons, who's done work in movies, videogames, and animated shows alike. The fan-favorite actor has become a integral part of voice acting in video game culture, and is now a part of the Dota 2 universe with the Cave Johnson Mega Kills Pack.

The Cave Johnson Mega Kills Pack also pairs with the GLaDOS announcer pack from way back in the day. As both are from the same Portal universe. Although both characters are pretty opposite in personality, they work together just fine in both Dota and Portal. Players will be able to get the mega kills pack as a level 75 rewards in Part II of the Battle Pass, which is right around the corner.

This is only the first couple of announcements of the finals weekend. Knowing Valve and their tendency to unveil projects around The International, this isn't the last. Especially since Dota players have gone crazy with the Swag Bag. Regardless, more content for the Dota 2 community is always welcome. For more Dota coverage, stick around on Esports.gg
