There will be three regional qualifiers to decide the final list of teams.

The International 2024 is the pinnacle of Dota 2 esports and continues to be so in 2024. Despite no longer commanding the massive prize pools of yester years, The International is the event to win in Dota 2 esports. This year, The International heads back to Copenhagen, Denmark, bringing sixteen of the world’s best teams in action to the event.

The International 2024 Dates: When is The International 2024?

The International 2024 will have sixteen teams in participation - this includes six direct invites. The remaining ten teams will have to qualify via the regional qualifiers with each region having some guaranteed participation in the event.

The six direct invites include:

  1. Team Spirit
  2. Xtreme Gaming
  3. Team Falcons
  4. Team Liquid
  5. Gaimin Gladiators
  6. BetBoom Team

The regional qualifiers will take place from June 9 to June 23rd. China and North America go through the qualifiers from June 9 to June 13. Eastern Europe and South America will compete from June 14 to June 18 whereas Southeast Asia and Western Europe will have their qualifiers from June 19 to 23rd.

Valve recently released the 7.36 Dota 2 gameplay update that introduced several new changes. These include Hero Facets, changes to existing items and talents and more. The update, which many Dota 2 personalities feel is much bigger than any other previous update will fundamentally change the game and the way it’s played over the next few months. With Hero Facets, there’s no multiple ways to approach the game, in what was already a very complex MOBA.
