Nicholas “zeal” Lim joins PSG.LGD, as the Chinese squad looks forward to starting its new season in DPC China 2023 Tour 2: Division I.
Nicholas "zeal" Lim has been signed to PSG.LGD, according to the Dota Pro Circuit Registration website. The signing reportedly took place on March 7.
The signing of zeal comes as the Chinese giants look forward to starting their new season in DPC China 2023 Tour 2: Division I on March 12.
Zeal, a Malaysian player, joins his former EHOME teammates on PSG.LGD — Lin "planet" Hao, and Guo "shiro" Xuanang — in an attempted to bolster the organization's fortunes and of China as a whole. At least, judging by the region's performance at the Lima Major 2023.
Zeal's addition will usher in a new playstyle for PSG.LGD, given his synergy with his former teammates. It also makes him the second Malaysian player, besides Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang, to join the team.
It is currently unknown which role he'll be playing, until further clarification from the team, but in all likelihood, it would be in the offlane.
If he is playing in the offlane role, zeal will also bring a lot of firepower to PSG.LGD in the second Tour of the DPC China 2023.
Being a versatile offlaner who can solo well in the laning phase, he'll unburden the supports. Especially planet, who'll get more freedom to roam around the map — something which was lacking in the previous iteration.
Zeal has a large hero pool that can also help PSG.LGD, especially coach Zhang "xiao8" Ning, to experiment with new drafts and strategies.

Is Zeal the solution to PSG.LGD's path to dominance in DPC China 2023?
Despite placing first in the DPC China 2023 Tour 1: Division I, PSG.LGD's performance internationally was far from representative of the powerhouse it once was. At the Lima Major 2023, the team finished in fifth place during the group stage.
Subsequently, they crashed out of the Lima Major, the first-ever major to be held in South America, in the first round of the lower bracket. This was perhaps a sign that things weren't working out, and that a change was needed.
But with zeal's addition, PSG.LGD might just turn the corner and attempt to reclaim its former glory, but only time will tell.
